it just occurs to me that with the wedding of charles & camilla there appears to be no royal mistress waiting behind the scenes.. just imagine..for the first time in centuries, the prince of wales hasn't got a mistress waiting to soothe his fevered brow.
i mean..who ever heard of anyone actually marrying their mistress..good grief.. so c'mon, gals, anyone interested in applying for the job?
ok, we know charlie boy is something of a tree-hugger and has an earnest desire to become a tampon.

So c'mon, gals, anyone interested in applying for the job? OK, we know Charlie boy is something of a tree-hugger and has an earnest desire to become a tampon. He's also not tall, dark or handsome in the conventional sense, but he is absolutely loaded. Plus, you might have a chance of becoming the next Duchess of Cornwall and might even get your face put on a Royal Mail postage stamp.
Any applicants out there?

hey guys!
i don't know if this has been discussed before.
if it has, just give me 20 lashes with a wet noodle.
I smoked a pack of Dunhill.
25 years later I realised that was a daft thing to do. Thankfully, not too many ex's are now tempted to smoke when they leave.

hey all,.
one aspect of this new laptop is driving me batty.
every so often, a message balloon pops up out of one of the system tray icons to tell me about some event it thinks i care about.
It's the little grey pop up boxes that drive me nuts. In the end I just deleted the messenger service.

who do you think would take the longest to get reinstated?
gbl
Neither Alan F. nor myself need to worry about getting reinstated. We are not DFd. We might be SHOT by the WTS, but we don't have to worry about being reinstated!
Really? Not DF'd? Good grief, I'm astonished. You guys must feel a compulsion to bow before me!

one thing that used to grieve me about my childhood.

One thing that used to grieve me about my childhood. Whenever I misbehaved - which was quite often - my Mum would berate me for my immediate sin, and then drag up all of the other mistakes that I had ever made. It was as though she was keeping a running total of all my mistakes. Consequently, it only took the slightest thing to put her tolerance level over the top. She would first of all point out the immediate flaw and then follow it with "and you did this and you did that and you did the other..." ad infinitum.
What was happening was that her tolerance level was always on the point of overflowing because she was unable to see each isolated incident as being precisely just that: An isolated incident. Instead she was in a perpetual state of "having had it up to here" for much of the time.
I see the same thing happening on DB's all the time now. I've even seen examples of someone hating someone else so much that they advertise their hatred for that person as their signature. Imagine carrying a grudge around so that it's permanently there for all to see!
Just lately I've been feeling a lot more benevolent to my fellow posters because I've tried to remember to not tot things up in that familiar old pattern that I picked up all those years ago. Maybe at 58 I'm actually learning "not to keep account of the injury" anymore.
Whatever. I feel much happier for it.

just the once.. i was 19 years old.
i was stll fairly pure except for the odd escapade that involved just a touch of finger-pie.
so there was some semblance of guilt hanging over my head.
I did. Just the once.
I was 19 years old. I was stll fairly pure except for the odd escapade that involved just a touch of finger-pie. So there was some semblance of guilt hanging over my head. Anyway, this was the dream that I had:
Armageddon was almost over. Just the witnesses were left. Thousands of us gathered around a huge building looking upwards at an angel stood on the top. The angel was dressed all in white and carried a huge golden bow and a quiver full of arrows. Slowly, the angel turned around at the same time as he drew back the bow. When he was pointing in my direction, he released the arrow and it flew straight in my direction and hit me in the centre of my chest. At that point I woke up.
I guess it was just a guilt dream, but even now, so many years later, just typing this has made me go all goose bumpy...And I remember it vividly too.

i know so many people, not just witnesses that are on zoloft or similar drugs.
i know of some that, once they left the "truth", stopped taking these meds and have not had to go back on them.
i know of some that, if they did not have them, would not be able to properly function......what about you?
I take 3 doses of Stella Artois daily.
Or similar.

i'm curious.
do you call it the uk, england, or britain?
i have the sneaking suspicion that these terms each mean something slightly different from one another, but i thought i'd see how the natives use them.
Great Britain in the geographical sense, comprises England, Scotland & Wales:
The United Kingdom of Great Britain (as above) and Northern Ireland is a political term referring to the territory under a monarch. In this case it is actually a Queendom!
