i am an apple fanatic, never got a virus once (touch wood), i'm an interior designer so i use photoshop and illustrator quite often, archicad is something i have just started with.
sure you could use pc with the creative suite, but mac is unique as you have amazing short cuts and its really user friendly, i have a friend who is a multimedia designer, and he is quite happy with his mac as well, but in the end you will decide!

Bring it: Mac OS X Versus Windows Vista
by V ini am ready to upgrade my system (currently windows xp) and am seriously considering switching to apple.. the new windows vista is going to be released soon, and it finally looks like a mac anyway.
who wants to follow a follower anyway?.
i need a powerful workstation for graphics, webdesign and 3d animation.. plus, i am very impressed with the new iphone and believe that the ipod culture will continue to keep macworld in the ascendant.

So little knowledge
by grissom6471 inso many people here and so little knowledge of jehovah's witnesses.
there are still people here associating jehovah's witnesses with the watchtower society when that is not the case.
so many people look to the past not the future.

Lost In Translation
by Nosferatu insomeone created this utility, and it's fun to play with.
it'll run a chunk of text through babelfish a bunch of times, and you'll come out with something completely screwed up.

Patience...
Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow. Sometimes it doesn't work at all.
Original English Text:
to be or not to be that is the question
Oops. The babel fish is being particularly unreliable right now. Perhaps try again after a cup of coffee?

If you grew up in a divided home, post your experiences here please.
by jambon1 inhow did you view your unbelieving parent?
how did you view the contrasting interests of your unbelieving parent?
did your jw parent have the greater influence on you?

since my father was not a jw and he worked constantly away from home for periods between 3 to 6 months, we had most of our time with our mother, who is quite fanatical( We were publishers already at the age of 6)
when ever he was home they would spend their time argueing, when he was away she would latch on to my sister and me telling us about their problems and when he came home she would latch on to him and complain about us, she always tried to get him to go the meetings.
Between the ages of 6 and 13, my father was diagnosed with rheumathoid arthiritis, in that period he studied with brother for a while, even attended the meetings and then eventually just stopped and never went again.
there were always differences on how to raise us, those arguements ended as my father eventually understood that he was never going to convince her otherwise. -

Floyd Kite's "Enduring the Tests Within God's Organization" (1980)
by Leolaia inthats a big test.
can you think of the test that that would put on gods people?
its a big test, its a big test.

(The number one test is this -- and if you can use this in helping someone else or teaching someone else, great. The number one test is this: will I be loyal to the organization God is using in spite of the people that are in it? That’s a big test. It’s been a big test in nineteen hundred years in the Christian congregation and a tremendously large test in modern times in God’s organization. How will I respond to the people inside of God’s organization? Will I be loyal to it? And you do have to admit that now you’re associated with the congregation there are many strange people in the congregation, and you’ve noticed that, right? And sometimes you begin wonder how did they get in? How do they stay in?! And yet we stand shoulder to shoulder like the loving encouragement we received through the book of Philippians this past week. Paul said, “Standing with one spirit shoulder to shoulder for the sake of the good news.” And yet if you look too closely at people, you can become very disappointed in your congregation. Even if you move to some other congregation, you’ll find the same thing. And you will actually begin to wonder, “Can these people really be God’s people?”)
nothing but brotherly love, isn't it wonderful! now all you have to do is turn on each other and become paranoid! -

must we practice what we believe?
by tetrapod.sapien infor example, i often hear atheists say that while they have a "lack of belief" in any gods (negative position), they are going to make the positive step in their lives and live them like there were no gods.
which is to say that they make their own morals and choices without fear of some god.
but what if an atheist decided one day that so and so religion, that worships so and so god, makes him feel good emotionally, and gives his ever vigilant left hemisphere a break on sundays.
