Does anyone know where to find the original photo? Then comparisons can be made. Got a feeling I've seen it somewhere, just can't remember where.

When the CO wanted to "help" me with a shepherding call, I said I appreciated their concern but I just wasn't ready to talk right then. They were very understanding and didn't push it.
Would your CO do the same?

The anointed
and their other sheep companions
recognize that by following
the lead of the modern-day Governing
Body, they are in fact following
their Leader, Christ.
The most blatant and disgusting blasphemy.
Thank you Blondie for your time and effort on this

Did leaving the WT build greater appreciation for or kill your reading of the Bible?
by lepermessiah ini am really on the fence on this issue right now and would love some opinions.. i find that i dont sit down and read the bible for long periods since becoming inactive, but on the other hand, individual scriptures mean much more to me now.. i will sit down and look up some favorite passages from time to time and feel like its the first time i really "got it" - without the jw goggles on.
i love matthew chapter 23, since i think it describes to a tee the situation in jw congregations.
i think if jesus returned today, he would blast the elders and "leaders" of the borg in a similar fashion (along with most religious leaders) .matthew 24 is actually more interesting to me now, simply because my whole life was waiting for the 1914 generation to end sometime during the reagan era!

On leaving my appreciation of the bible grew but now the bible scares me to death, I can't pick it up. All I really remember is being made to feel bad and constant condemnation and not measuring up. Don't want the familiar words to make me feel like that again.

shunning is love - Feb 15 2011 Watchtower
by jj123jj123 in18 if you face a similar situation, please remember that jehovah sympathizes with you.
by cutting off contact with the disfellowshipped or disassociated one, you are showing that you hate the attitudes and actions that led to that outcome.
however, you are also showing that you love the wrongdoer enough to do what is best for him or her.

Hi Lee
I always enjoy your column on freeminds, thanks for taking the time to write them.
One disfellowshipped sister recently asked me how to handle her 9 year old (whose JW father has main custody) when he tearfully says, "mummy come back to the meetings or your gonna die".
She feels very guilty as she was partly responsible for teaching him to think this way as a "good" witness parent is supposed to do.
The only thing I advised her to do was to be honest with him. Tell him mummy doesn't believe thats true anymore.
How would you advise putting the fears of JW children to rest?

>>> shunning is love <<<
The act of shunning is the mental equivilent of a man that beats his wife to a pulp, sees her tears and her pain and then says, "don't cry dear, I'm only doing this to you because I love you"
Sick.

Sayings of Everlasting Life heard "Nowhere Else" but in JW Organization?
by InterestedOne ini just finished reading the 9/15/2010 wt study edition article for nov 8-14, and the last few sentences of paragraph 7 on page 18 jumped out at me.
referring to the "one association" which i assume means the jw organization, the author says "... where else can we turn?
nowhere else can we hear the sayings of everlasting life.

Hi again IO.
What you're asking for is inside information. The knowledge in those books are for fully indoctrinated JW's only, hence thats why you're termed "not ready".
In other words, you question too much. Once you are showing yourself totally compliant to all the information your currently fed, (termed "appreciative") and are regular at the meetings, then - and only then will you be trusted with the inside information.
A JW's relationship is indeed like a parent-child one.
"God has not arranged for that Word to speak independently or to shine forth life-giving truths by itself. His word says "light is sown for the righteous". It is through his organization that God provides this light that the proverb says is the teaching or law of the mother. If we are to walk in the light of truth we must recognise not only Jehovah God as our Father but his organization as our mother." May 1st 1957 WT pg 274
WTWizard mentioned something that must be difficult for individual JW's: even if they can show that a WT doctrine is unsound Biblically, they have to go along with it and wait for the organization to fix it.
This is true.
"Are we assigned as individuals to bring forth the food for the spiritual table? No? Then let us not try tot ake over the slave's duties. We should eat and digest and assimilate what is set before us, without shying away from parts of the food because it may not suit the fancy of our mental taste........We should meekly go along with the Lord's theocratic organization and wait for further clarification, rather than balk at the first mention of a thought unpalatable to us and proceed to quibble and mouth our criticisms and opinions as though they were worth more than the slave's provision of spiritual food. Theocratic ones will appreciate the Lord's visible organization and not be so foolish as to pit against Jehovah's channel their own human reasoning and sentiment and personal feelings........After being nourished to our present spiritual strength and maturity, do we suddenly become smarter than our former provider and forsake the enlightening guidance of the organization that mothered us?"
