Are we supposed to give straight forward truths of where they do not live up to their own council or the stupidity of some of their teachings?

I Figured Out The Easiest Way To Expose Jehovah's Witnesses!!!!
by minimus injust say the truth.
don't embellish.
just give the facts to people.....for example, tell people that jws don't think it's wrong to actually lie if they believe that telling the truth to a person could hurt them.

I have done my part...
by metaspy intonight i feel a bit of a relief.. there is a study in my congregation who has advanced to the point of being an unbaptised publisher.
after learning all that i have recently, i felt i must warn him of the dangers of his decisions.. so tonight after the meeting, i told him to make sure of everything he is learning.. "do not take things for granted, look them up yourself.
don't get baptised without proving everything to yourself.. once you are baptised you cant question the teachings of the wts.".

Tonight I feel a bit of a relief.
There is a study in my congregation who has advanced to the point of being an unbaptised publisher
After learning all that I have recently, I felt I must warn him of the dangers of his decisions.
So tonight after the meeting, I told him to make sure of everything he is learning.
"Do not take things for granted, look them up yourself.
Don't get baptised without proving everything to yourself.
Once you are baptised you cant question the teachings of the WTS."
His reaction was that he will definitely do that.
I think that he felt he already was.
I tried to make it seem like I was trying to be upbuilding so if this comes back to someone big it wont bite me.
I can still pass it off as him not understanding me correctly.
I want to leave on my own time, on my terms.
However, I feel that I have done my part in warning him.
Did anyone ever do this before leaving? -

How would you react if someone at the hall called you by your username here
by JH in2 years ago, i went to a meeting and the brother talking in the front said that the internet was full of dirty rats..... he was looking at me when he said that.

I have used this username before in other places. I would assume they were referring to that.
if they mention this place specifically, I would have a major shock.
Hopefully I will be out soon and wont have to worry. -

Get a load of this video... Mad Jw's at the door!!!
by AK - Jeff inis this staged?
i noticed the man kept calling the householder 'brother', i never heard that done in the ministry.
opinions?.

This video is not JWs.
A few reasons: 1) Calls the householder "Brother"
2) Says the reason for calling is "wanted to invite to a get-together"
3) Doesn't even know the time of the "get-together" (he says 8, she says "usually 8:30")
4) There are no refreshments at the kingdom hall
5) The paper that the lady handed to the householder is only a single yellow sheet of paper. (we see it more clearly later when the householder is trying to get away)
6) The lady says "you are going to he11" - a real JW would have said "you are going to die at armageddon" ;-)
7) Neither of the two has a Bible. -

ETs - the Objection that Cannot be Overcome
by metatron inlet's suppose you have documentary evidence that every miracle recorded in the bible actually.
occurred as written.
would this be enough to prove that the bible can be relied on?

I had a teacher in school who had the same theory. God/Angels/Demons = Aliens/ExtraTerrestrials
With that being said, I also personally knew of some JWs who claimed to have seen aliens or UFOs.
One such brother said he ran back to the coffee shop where he had come from and grabbed a few patrons to witness this also. When they returned, the UFO was still where he left it.
Is it feasible? Sure. A science teacher of mine said that you can part salt water using a super magnetic force. Certainly ETs would know this, especially if they are technologically advanced.
The argument about Central America and Egypt having similar technology and products about the same time, I attribute that to continental drift.
Sorry about the random ramblings... -

Current cong: Shrinking - there is a strange mixture of disorganization, bad personalities, and uncaringness that is causing it
previous cong: Growing - there were many brothers and sisters coming in from other halls. that cong was considered like the golden cong. -

Bible Reading - Jeremiah 5
by metaspy inok this is kinda twisted.. a brother in my old hall, used to always complain that he got the 'bad' bible readings.. for instance, he got this weeks reading - it include jer 5:8.. who really wants to say that from the stage?.
i got thinking, how many times does the wts have us read that verse when we are in jeremiah?.
out of the 5 times we have read jeremiah in the last 20 years, 3 of those the wts had some poor shmuck of a brother reading 5:8..

by Matt_fs insomething weird happened there, it didnt post.
now i have to re write it ha.. .
hey folks.

From what I got out of his letter, your friend has left the borg.
I guess I'd like to ask you if you believe what the Jehovah's Witnesses teach? Because if you do then you have made a decision to ignore it, which means I should not have contact with you. As it says in 2 John 9,10.
So what I gather from his letter: if you ignore your previous questionings and go along with the JWs, he will not have contact.
Perhaps I am reading this wrong... -

Just how honest are you?
by ButtLight inlets say you go throught the bank drive through, and cash a check.
they give you an extra hundred bucks.........would you tell them?
(i have to admit, i didnt, and felt guilty).

I have returned extra money from a bank, wallets, etc.
Once when I got laid-off from a job they gave a severance package.
I was the only one in the companies history to ever get a severance package and be a part time worker.
so they paid me the X weeks of severance at 40 hours, they were supposed to pay at my current part time hours.
I brought the check back and they were thankful (even though they hadn't caught the mistake). -

Any Nintendo Wii'ers out there?
by Jourles inhands down the best new game system you can buy.
forget the ultra-highend graphics, being part of the game is where it's at.
we've had one for a couple months now and even my wife loves to play all the games we have for it.. bsom's thread about d&d reminded me of something...you know how many jw's will watch lord of the rings but will spurn harry potter due to the witchcraft portrayed?

If there was a store around me that could hold one long enough for me to get there, I would have one.
of course I am usually one system behind, so it doesn't bother me that much.
I do think that it was the best of the 3 new systems (xbox360, PS3, Wii)
But I am biased (PS3 cost too much; I hate M$)
