the wt study for feb 4, says that in luke 18, jesus asks "when the son of man arrives will he find this faith in the earth"?.
a footnote in the nwt says "or "this faith" ", but does not quote any authority to back up this claim.. looking at the greek text, i see only a definite article.
i checked other translations, and none of mine said "the faith" - i assume because the definite article in this instance is like that in other languages such as german and french, where it would mean faith in general.
this is a touchy topic for some because of strong beliefs about god's nature.
many believe that the nt bible is a law book, designed to give us exacting instructions and formula on what to do and not to do.
on prayer to the holy ghost (holy spirit), the new advent says:.
When you read the Model of the prayer that Jesus gave usyou can actually find out that it is exactly what most are especting (from God, for / from others and for / from ourselves)
Whatever you feel, expect is a prayer (our spirit talks to God - that's the most sincere prayer whatever your spirit is asking good or bad - in knowing or not "it" being good or bad).
Now of course you can get into a religious way to do it (but God/Christ already knows what's our spirit wants exactly)

several years ago, approx 1995, i was a newbie elder - age 29 and was just doing the "yes man" duties around the hall.
there was the overbearing po who was the "king" of the congo and whatever he said was gospel... if he didn't like you - you were history... needless to say - i kissed his butt and moved up the ladder quite easily.
we had another newbie elder - in his late 40's - and he was a smart man.

We all have to go through lots of misteaks before to get the point on specific matters about ourselves (you regret = good). Doing errors at some points actually make us able to forgive others and protect us from being self-rightous (nobody is perfect - it's not a scoop).
