According to a book of mine called "Star Trek Chronology: The History of the Future"
1993 - Khan (KHAAAAAAAN!!!!) Noonien Sing and his band of superior humans seize power, and the Eugenics wars ensue.
1996 - Khan (KHAAAAAAAN!!!!) is overthrown, and escapes from earth along with 40 of his fellow "supermen" aboard a DY-100 class sleeper ship.
1999 - Voyager 6 launched
2009 - First successful manned mission to Saturn
2025 - Runification of Ireland
2030 - Zephram Cochrane is born
2033 - 52nd state admitted into the union (USA)
2040 - TV no longer survives as a signifigant form of entertainment.
reading aleman's intelligent and erudite posts in regard to prophecies and other things biblical got me to thinking and prompted me to ask the following question - just what is the watchtower bible and tract society's current [as of this month, february 2008] interpretation on the identity of the wicked witch king of the north?
when i was in - many moons ago in the late 1970's - the king of the north was depicted, if my memory serves me correctly, as the soviet union.
but as the expression goes, s*** happens.
The Daniel stuff used to fascinate me when I was still... in. I'd say they pick either the Islamic world or a China, and Russia combo. Like they had the "Anglo-American Empire" as one of the beast heads in Revelations.
They could also replace the Anglo-American beast head with a China-Russia beast head since during the 90's with the collapse of communism you could say it was given a... I can't remember the exact wording, but I remember the picture of the lion's head being struck with a sword, anyway a death blow, but recovered. It's all so vague you could make lots of nations from throughout history fit into the prophecies. Two major powers/alliances competing for primacy? That hardly ever happens!

Neat pictures, I got a chance to glimpse it on my lunch break. It's pretty cloudy here, but there was a break in the clouds long enough for me see it for about 30 seconds before it went back behind the clouds.
when we were once jehovah's witnesses - we were taught to doubt others " in the world " whose beliefs differed from ours .
we were taught to be cynical of any views that didn't harmonize or agree with the watchtower societies views .
so for years many of us were programmed like this - to keep a closed mind and think that there was only one correct way to believe things , and everybody outside that one way was full of you know what !

I tend to keep people at arms length and am not a very trusting. I still get the thought 'well you're just being nice to me because you want something'. It's a hard habit to break.
