  Tomorrow is my Master's Defense (wish me luck)

  tomorrow at 2:45 arizona time i present/defend my master's research to basically the entire department (anthropology...all the 'sub-disciplines'...socio/cultural, physical and archaeology).

  they've changed things a bit in the program so now all grad students who are completing their ma in any given year present on the same day in one big "ma-athon," so *everybody*...all the faculty and many of the students...will be there (defenses used to have a much smaller audience and rarely had people from more than your own sub-disc).. i'm not as nervous as i could be...i've done several different (smaller) presentations of my research both on campus at brown-bags and on-campus grad student conferences and at 2 national meetings, so i've had lots of practice.. the only bad thing is, out of a bunch of students the whole day, i'm the very.

  here's to hoping they're ready to leave and *not* that, since there's nobody speaking after me, they can grill me for as long as they want .

  First Birthday card for my Sister.

  she will be 48 years old on 4/24/07 and this will probably be the first birthday card she has received, being a life time jw.

  thanks to jwd, i no longer will be treating her with kid gloves, she will now be treated as family, like it or not.. .

  It all started in San Diego

  January 1979 – Brenda Spencer, 17, got a rifle for Christmas and used it to shoot into an elementary school across the street from her home in San Diego, California.   my wife left me 5 years ago when i left the jehovah's witnesses.

  she got remarried saturday to one of "our" old jehovah's witness friends jay .

  jay's wife, judy died 6 months ago of cancer.

  My uncle hooked up with the babysitter, very shortly after his wife's death. That gave the family something to talk about; until, the second cousins decided to get married. For the record, all are JWs and living in Texas. This does not reflect on any normal people living in Texas.

  Do You Still Act Like A Jehovah's Witness?

  i'm not very far removed, any longer from how i presented myself as a witness, and how i do today.

  i'm usually polite, cordial, respectful of others, even those who i may have very little regard for or those who on a regular basis, piss me off.

  i work very hard not to use foul language.

  WT Approved Grounds For Divorce

  i was hoping to confirm something for an article i'm working on.

  i was told that the only acceptable grounds for divorce are adultery and a husband failing to support his wife financially.

  i don't believe apostasy counts, does it?

  the wts teaches that when an individual physically dies he is 'aquitted' or 'set free' from sin.

  the verse they use to support this view is romans 6:7 which reads: .

  7 for he who has died has been acquitted from [his] sin.. .

  I agree with the Hortensia, you see your doctor. Get a physical to rule out anything serious. Don't assume that you are just getting old.
