  thank you to everyone for their thoughts and opinions about leaving my son alone with his dub grandparents.

  now i'm wondering how upfront with them i should be.

  i have a lot of mixed emotions about this.

  Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and opinions about leaving my son alone with his Dub grandparents. Now I'm wondering how upfront with them I should be. I have a lot of mixed emotions about this. It would be satisfying to tell them exactly how brainwashed I think they are, but I also think that would be petty and small of me. At the same time though, it's difficult to keep sidestepping and making excuses for why they can't keep him for a sleepover or whatever. What does everyone think?

  Something creepy just happened here.........................

  as some of you know, my office is a converted garage.

  the day has been fairly still here, and all of a sudden the front door started shaking like someone was trying to open it, as if it was locked.

  when i heard it start to shake i looked up and the door was moving as if someone was trying to get in.

  real shock i know that a jw would do that.

  i found out today that my mom took my son to the kh behind my back when she was in town visiting.

  he's just a little baby so he will have no memories of it.

  That is a fabulous idea, Merry. I just find it so ironic the reaction that a Dub parent would have if their child was essentially abducted and taken to a "worldly" church in direct opposition to their stated wishes. Consider the outrage that occurs when dub kids end up getting transfusions that save their life, and yet they see no dichotomy in their own actions. The bottom line is that trying to explain to a dub grandparent is pointless. They're not capable of understanding. And the more freaked out you get with your spouse, the more you will come across as the crazy unreasonable one. I completely understand how you feel. I know if my parents ever took my son to the hall again I would cut them off without a second thought. Fortunately my husband backs me up on this. You're in a really horrible spot (((((ub)))))

  JWs and the weird way they say Happy Birthday

  you who don't know -- i'm daed but my mother still sends me very short e-mail about every two months.. this morning she sent me an email that said:.

  25 today.

  it would be sooooo wrong for someone to say -- "happy birthday" .. but its fine to mention that i am 25 today.

  Happy Birthday, Renee! My mom has always done the same thing, called up to say, x years ago you were born! Seriously, how the heck is that any different??? So many of the dub things are just so stupid, just about controlling the drones. Its really sad.

  there are many words or phrases jw's use daily and especially at the meetings.

  we all know pioneer means something different to jw's than to others, same thing for publisher and so on.. i was wondering, what the he!!

  I get ya, ninja. I go in cycles, myself. I'll get furious and wound up and just insanely angry, and then it dies down again for a while. I worry about somehow never managing to get OVER it. I don't want the rest of my life to be about the Dubs. That feels like they're still winning, but the anger is still very much a part of who I am.
