This all very good news, and I can't wait to tell my husband tomorrow morning, (he's already asleep)! He gets very choked up everytimeI tell him about one of Ali's setbacks, because he knows exactly how she feels.

Wonderful news about Ali....and something to warm your heart
by coffee_black inas i have posted, my daughter ali has been in the cardiac intensive care unit since thursday.
her bp, heartrate and blood sugar went sky high, due to horrible coughing spells from a chest cold that left her gasping for air.. she has congestive heart failure, and has been treated for almost a year now.
she has improved over that year, but this was a real setback.. ali called me today with amazing news.

Fishin'
by LoneWolf inhi, peeplezs!.
something happened during the last few days that made me feel good, and knowing that you folks love nature like i do, i figure i ought to share it.. back in the 50's, georgia pacific corp. bought out the booth-kelly timberlands above us where we lived on mosby creek, the valley that runs due east out of cottage grove, oregon.
the purchase consisted of almost the entire mosby creek watershed.

You remind me so much of my husband. I wish you two could meet, but alas we're cross country from you. Have you ever been froggin' or turtle hunting?

Welcome to JWN. Unless there's an inheritance to be lost, being shunned by your parents is probably the best thing tha could happen to you. They sound like toxic people. I'm glad to hear that your husband is a good person. After hearing your story, I hope he understands your problem with religion.
There are many people here who are more "in" than you are. Keep posting...you'll get an education and make some friends.

Well, it's official, I am a rabid, mentally diseased Apostate!
by serenitynow! inso an apostabuddy wanted to stage a silent protest at the assembly hall where she was baptized.
we went today.
the plan was to wear these apostate t-shirts that had stuff printed on them about thinking for yourself, and a bunch of websites.

I read this story on Facebook, and it just cracked me up! It may not be as funny to those of you who don't know what Serenity looks like. Aside from being beautiful, she is a refined looking young woman and NOT someone of whom you'd be afraid to run into in a dark alley. And to have her paired with another woman holding a baby...wel the mental image just sends me into a laughing fit!
Hey Serenity, maybe you could recruit all of us apostates who are in wheelchairs or use canes. We can be called the Harmless Hoodlums, LOL! After all, there's nothing scarier than an apostate.

Should i break up???
by Dudu ini need advice specially from those wise women and men from this forum, who has been in a relationship for long time.
here is my situation, i am dating a guy for 4 months now and everything was going smooth, but since a month ago , he is been going out with some friends.... my boyfriend only has 2 full days off during the month , every other sunday, last day off he went all day with his friends to the beach and i was ok with that, but today he is calling me to ask me if i am ok with him going with his friends again all day to the beach.
we dont go out that much and maybe we go out one time a week and is for dinner or something like that, i dont think of myself as clingy but i dont like this pattern...... should i break up?

well, he called me while i was out having dinner with friends, to tell me that one of his friends is going to travel and thats why he is going to the beach with them instead of being with me, he said he is sorry he didnt explain me this when he called me at noon but he was in a lunch break so he didnt have much time to explain , funny thing is i didnt ask for an explanation instead i got mad and angry at him not knowing the reasons ..... i think for today im gonna enjoy the rest of the night with a movie.... i know ive been childlish
I hope you learned a lesson from his explanation. If you would've exprssed your disappointment when he called you at lunchtime, he would've taken the time to explain the situation about his friend leaving town. Be honest and expect honesty from him. Things should work out fine.

Don't make the same mistake I did
by Terry inin 1974 i had moved to california from texas and my nowhere jw janitor job to a real career in a field i loved.
(art).
i had packed my jw wife and 3 kids in my 1970 ford maverick and drove into the unknown.. mind you, this was on the very eve of a very "important date in human history".

I think you are being more concerned about the feelings of believers than about your sons well being.
Wobble, I completely agree. Grandma needs a dressing down. I would never leave chidren alone with jws for the simple fact that jws have no idea with whom they associate. Child molesters are protected in their midst.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen kindness like that in the world, both as a giver and a recipient.

is it moral and or rational to teach children and adults that Santa is real?
by mankkeli in1) yes it is moral and rational.
2) yes it is moral.
3) yes it is rational.

There is no point in telling little kids that Santa isn't real unless they ask. After all, how many parents explain to their kid that other faiy tale characters aren't real? Kids eventually figure it out for themselves. When I did, I really appreciated the fact that my parents worked so hard to make Christmas so special for my brother and me.

I hope prosecutors start charging elders and other Watch Tower leaders with such crimes. It's long overdue!
