My son's heart is broken
by ruderedhead ini'm sure someone here has experienced this before.
please help me help my son.
his wife of 15 months told him last night that she needs her space, that what she wanted 1 year ago isn't the same as what she wants now.

I'm sorry you and your son are going through this difficulty. But if your daughter-in-law was certain of her love for your son, she certainly wouldn't want more time away from him. Regardless of whether she's found someone else, she doesn't want her husband. Encourage your son to mourn the loss and then keep himself busy with starting a new life of his own. Even if she has a change of heart, he may decide that he likes his new life without her.
All you can do is be there for him by advising that "This too shall pass", point out his good qualities, and encourage him to go on with his life. If she's as determined to end this marriage as she seems, she probably will refuse counseling. Your son's circumstances surrounding his job are no fault of his own.
I have two younger sisters who are married to Navy men. They spend months apart from their husbands. Your daughter-in-law could have it much worse than she already does.

My mother passed away this morning...
by Tatiana infor any old-school ex-jws here that remember my many posts about my abusive jw mother and my sister committing suicide because of it...she passed away this morning because she began to bleed out and refused a transfusion.
she had been in the hospital for a month.
it appears she suffered a stroke and wasn't found by the brothers & sisters for three days (they missed her at the meetings).

Meeting with my family doctor...
by NVR2L8 ini needed a prescription renewed and found out my old doc retired...met my new doc and took this opportunity to update my medical record...removed the no blood transfusion clause from my file.
i told the doctor that inconsistencies within my church's doctrines made it impossible for me to put my life at risk for no valid reason.
after throwing out my medical directive card, amending my medical record is another step toward totally breaking free from the cult.

Did you warn the doctor that jws are encouraged to breach confidentiality?

If the 'slave class' spoke in the first person, would it change how people viewed them?
by sd-7 insometimes i think about stuff i read in watchtower literature and wonder if it would be received differently if it was just like, one guy with a bible, ranting as he paced back and forth amongst the jws.
"it's abundantly clear that jesus selected me to be his channel of communication with mankind.
don't you see the proof?

You cant use Patterson! Court denies Watchtowers bond motion
by cedars inhere's my article on the latest development in the conti case.... http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/you-cant-use-patterson-court-denies-watchtowers-bond-motion.
i've tried to write it in such a way as to explain what's going on for people (like myself) who struggle to understand complex legal issues.. i've also availed myself of the help of a valued poster on this forum who wishes to remain anonymous.. i hope people will find the article helpful.
as always, if people notice any problems with it, please let me know (as kindly as possible!

Watchtower's lawyers tried arguing that, if Candace lost the appeal, she would have to repay the annual bond premium payments to the Society in excess of $80,000 per year for however many years the case dragged on.
Is this true?

You're only 28! Sweetie, you're going to grow and change a lot Just look at how much you've accomplished in a year's time! Maybe your next step should be becoming financially indepedent, so you don't have to worry about keeping a roof over your head and food in your belly. Then you'll be free to express your opinions and live your life the way you see fit.
