i posted a thread earlier this week about a conversation i had with my jw ex-wife.

the next day i sent her this e-mail.

have read this comment several times and I still cannot reconcile this point. How is the WBTS a publishing company when they don't "charge" for their literature? There are no advertisements in their publications. They mention the donation arrangement, but they will still leave you literature if you don't want to donate.

All aspects of publishing, (research, writing, printing) are done by the volunteers who live at Bethel. All apsects of distribution (inventory and offering to the public) are done by volunteers at the kh by literature servants and publishers. There is a guaranteed customer base (jws) who pay for the stuff and then collect donations door to door which are sent to the WTB&TS.

Why Are Barb Anderson's Comments Missing from Silentlamb's NBC Transcript?

a few weeks ago i was checking out a few details on line about the nov. 12, 2007 nbc broadcast concerning the wts settlement on the west coast pedophile cases, and the release of the court documents on cd by barbara anderson.

i think it was lisa meyers who interviewed barbara, and brian williams was hosting.

well, i figured silentlambs had a transcript of the show, and i went there, only to find that they indeed had the transcript, but all of barbara's portion of the interview was oddly missing, and there was no link to the video.

Have you pm'd Barbara Anderson to ask her? Also you can ask Bill Bowen on Saturday, May 24 on the next conference call. It will be at 7 p.m. EST by calling (712)432-8710. When asked for pin give number 9925. I would be curious to see how he and/or Barbara Anderson has to say about the situation.

watchtowers at my threrapist's office

when i go to my threrapist's office, while waiting in the waiting room, i look for wts and awakes.

when i find them i write on them a website either this one or silent lambs or i just write "this group is a cult" across the front of it.. one visit i found like 12 wts.

i didn't have time to scribble a note on all of them before my therapist called me in.. well this week.

Maybe you could get a rubber stamp made, so it will be faster to put the message on all of the rags you come across. At that rate, you may be able to skip therapy sessions all together! LOL. HAPPY STAMPING!

The problems with my JW family

this may be a rare thing on this board, don't know, because this is my first post, but i was raised jw and officially 'checked out', in my own mind, at 14 or so, because it just didn't make sense that god would destroy so many good people who are wholeheartedly trying their best to please him and worship him in truth.

i actually did not pray or give god a passing thought for 12 years or so because the god i had been raised to know was no one i wanted to worship.

but here in the past year something brought me around to him.

First of all, you have the right to determine who has contact with your child and what is communicated to your child. I think you should let your dad know in no uncertain terms that he will be shunned if he doesn't cut the crap with your daughter. Second, aside from the fact that his jw true colors are showing when he blames a rape victim for being raped, I find it extremely ironic that he denies a pedophile problem within the organization of the WTB&TS. Check out the Silent Lambs website and/or go to http://www.watchtowerdocuments.com/ to see how the society, for years has covered up child molestation. It should be brought to his attention.

i wanted to open this thread for discussion after reading some other posts which sound very similar to my own situation.

i wondered if anyone would like to share suggestions, vent and get it off their chest or respond to my own issue.. in my case, my parents are jw and are relatively easy to deal with outside of the fact that they seek me out and ultimately want to save my soul (an uneven relationship).

however my husbands parents-his mother in particular, is a pill!

An Interesting YouTube debate I had with a JW

so most of you have probably seen my youtube video what you should know about jehovah's witnesses, which can be found here.

naturally, this draws quite a negative response from the jw community, but this particular person decided to send me a personal message.. you wanna talk smack about witnesses or anyone in general you better have your facts straight.

everything you said is taken almost enitrly out of context to our true practices.

hi newbie to this great place

sorry this has turned out longer than i thought.anyway i lived the life of a single mother fell away from the organisation,and eventually met a (worldly) guy who is the most loving guy i have ever met,my best friend,lover and soulmate.i was disfellowshipped 4 months ago because we live with each other and plan to get married in september,unacceptable to the society hence my disfellowshipping.it has broke my mum and dads heart and im so so sorry for this,i love them so much,but no longer want or believe in the jw beliefs.

i still believe in god but dont know where im bound as regards my faith,i really do want to have something.

apart from my mum and dad and the shunning arrangement im so happy,the happiest i have ever been in years,and my 2 youngest ones are happy as well..my eldest daughter is 16 and planning on getting baptised in july which is tearing me apart,she is so like me,but is being brainwashed by a certain crowd of witnesses,need i say anymore...my eldest son who is 18 isnt in the truth and feels the same way i do... anyway thanks for this forum and hope to hear from likeminded friends soon.

Welcome. Is there any way you can stop your daughter from being baptized? Can you make her wait until she is at least 18?
