my parents divorced after my dad decided to leave the "truth.
" i was baptised when i was 16, after being severely pressured by my mom to do so.

The elders told me if I didn't return to my husband, I would be disfellowshipped. I told them I refused to do that, so I was disfellowshipped in 1996.
I see things haven't changed much with the cult. My circumstances were similar almost a decade earlier. Two-thirds of people who were raised as jw leave the cult Hopefully your oldest daughter will eventually do the same. Kudos to your husband. He sounds like a great guy!
when i come to this forum and read the topics of the day, it disturbs me that some always have objections and comments that are negative.
what source of encouragement is there when one breaks down the story of others?
what's your personal gain, what's the satisfaction?
What is an elders lodge? Is it a nursing home or something to do with jw elders?
was shopping at our local grocer this morning while i was there.
i pushed my cart past her, full of food for father's day celebration we are having on monday for convenience.
in my cart were two full "american flag kits" as the patriotic nature of the independence day moved me to buy them and add to my 9 or 10 flags around my house and garden.. she looked at me and said 'are you a k----?
I am so glad that I live in a state where I was never a jw!

IMO, it's preferencial to teach morals without religion. Goodness for goodness's sake is much better than reward vs punishment.

i am a very fortunate father.
5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys.. this is the personal note written inside the card from my youngest daughter, who just became a mother last july.. "things i love about you, dad.... i love that you always make me laugh and you're never too grown up to be silly.... i love that you never talked down to me and always made me feel smart.... most of all, i love that i get tp share you with my daughter and watch you make her giggle like you always did with me.. i love you, dad.. ---".
forgive me this indulgence but i am a little emotional this eveing after talking to all my adult children today..

i have gotten through so much of the anger i felt toward my parents for their part in my screwed up childhood.
i know they were just doing what they thought was right.
but now, as i celebrate holy and special days with my children i feel a new anger because i cannot give them the big family celebration they deserve.
My dear girl, you're not selfish...you're just human. Everyone wants that Norman Rockwell existence. Forgive your parents for your sake, and leave your mother to her own anger about not being able to participate in celebrations with your children. It's her choice. I've been out for about 23 years, and my mom has completely shunned me. I had to replace her, because she didn't give me a choice. It looks like your mother is doing the same thing as far as celebrations are concerned. So, please, do what I did...look around for others who would be happy to be welcomed to your celebrations. Opening your home to someone who has nowhere else to go will replace your anger with another emotion; kindness. And it will teach your children compassion and graciousness.

one is a reg pioneer.... all are actually pretty key to my biz....three have been there over 20 years (ya...i am a great boss!!!).

If people could work from home offices elsewhere there are many here who love to work for you! me included.
My thought exactly! I've done lots of work by remote: marketing, customer service, writing, etc., and am now looking for work. I also agree with the suggestion of cross training your existing non-jw employees. That way if the jws want to quit, let them quit.
