I Quit Preaching The "Door To Door and Tract Work" No Time For March 2012.

why i have stopped preaching door to door, inactive now for march 2012!.

i can't participate in the door to door ministry anymore, how can i guarantee my bible studies won't experience the "dark side"?

are we providing a spiritually safe environment for new believers, free of sex offenders, thieves, gossiping bitter old women and "rock throwing hypocrites"?

i was brought up around the truth.

my dad was disfellowshiped when i was young, around 6-7. he was a elder and very devoted even going to jail when he was younger for the truth.

he had a stroke and started preaching things that the society was not teaching and he was disfellowshiped.

First of all, welcome to JWN! Now, take a deep breath and exhale...you've come to the right place. There are many people who have stood where you now stand that will be able to advise you on your next steps as well as share their own personal experiences.

Let me start by saying what a shame it is that your father was treated with such contempt. I'm quite certain that doctors knew all about dementia and mental deterioration from a stroke back in the 70's. But the WT and its minions would rather just get rid of a naysayer regardless of his circumstances. As a frequent JWN poster says, "Cults shoot their wounded!".

Although your mother is physically out of the cult, she is still mentally in. What a horrible situation for her.

As for the "loving" jws who threatened you with the life of your son, please be advised that threat has been used for over 100 years now. So far, no one has lost a baby to Armageddon.

And good for you for standing by your husband and listening to his reasoning! There are so many good and decent men here who have been abandonded or at least ignored by their wives who are under cult mind control.

The first book you should probably read is Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz. He was a governing body memeber who resigned and then was later df'd for eating lunch with another brother who da'd. Please note that this punishment came before it was a WT rule to shun those who da'd themselves. Anyway, it will give you an honest look inside the organization. Probably the second most reccommended book is Combatting Cult Mind Control by Steven Hassan. He was never a jw but escaped the clutches of the Moonie cult. Now he teaches therapists about how to treat former cult members.

Until you can get your hands on those books and others, just go through this list of eight criteria for mind control listed below. Think about how the critieria fits into the life of a jw. Then everytime you have anxiety about Armageddon or any of the other threats used by the Watchtower cult, read that list again. It will help you to overcome your fears with logic.

has anyone lied to the two elders

as ive got cobe and my daughters fil coming round nxt wk to grill me, first time 2 of the blighters have turned up together so im expecting the inevitable.

by the way not been to a meeting in 2.5 yrs after 35 yrs in the b/s,and just wondering how much they pressure to get the answers they want.

I do have to avoid that as we have grand children and the sil says he will treat me as d/f.

I would definitely use this situation. You could say something like, "My son in law has threatened my relationshp with my grandchildren while having no idea what I'm feeling or thinking. I'm sorry, COBOE and father in law to my daughter, but that kind of treatment has me so discouraged that I just can't bring myself to talk to anyone."

She's back and I could really use some advice!

I have to agree with the opinions of others who say that honesty is the best policy. However, since a relationship with your family is at stake, you can't be completely honest with her. It's a terrible situation to be in. Listen, my dear, you are very young, so you may not know that most people must meet several people before they find "the one". Your lady friend being "the one" for you is like winning the lottery...the odds are that great.

If possible, cut out the romantic stuff with her for now and work on your fade. Just tell her that you both are too young to be dating, because according to WT rules, dating should only be done with a view to marriage. Make sure that questions about the WT that she must answer are included in every conversation you have. Let her do the researching and talking, so nothing can come back on you if she decides to stay in the cult.

I know this is very tough, but please don't make the same mistakes that many of us have made. If you stay in the cult long enough for you two to be caught dating, then much more pressure will be put on her to get baptized and then for the two of you to get married. Then things will be much tougher than they are now.

What should I do?

today is my first time seeing a bag of dog poop on my yard.

i do not know who did it but i picked it up and i put it in the febreze trash bag then i threw it in my garbage can.

if i will ever find out who did it, what should i do?

Iamallcool, do you have a dog? If so, whoever put the bag in your yard is angry about either a false impression that your dog is pooping in his yard or your dog really is pooping in his yard.

I think that was my wife's stepmom's lunch sack. She probably left it by accident! She thinks people believe she is eating a snak pak but she isn;t.....

EWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! TOTH, that's funny and gross.

My cousin's wife had a child from her first marriage. After she married my cousin, there was a health issue with the child that required a blood tranfusion. When the father pressed the issue in court, the WT paid for a lawyer for my cousin's jw wife.
