i never thought much about it. when i thought about it it looked like the paintings in jw magazines and quickly thinking about petting lions again... sometimes i doubted that i could stand such an cruel event.

did you ever bring "imaginary" greetings to your home congregation after going on vacation, so it would look like you went to the meetings while you were away?.

i've never done this personally, but i've often wondered if others did..

never thought about that. lol. funny idea. i think its hard in most cases. either you were in holiday alone or everyone with you need to support you lieing... dont think this happens often.

now that the time has past i can give up the surprise that i sprung on the elders before my da'ing announcement.

i emailed the entire congregation!

or at least as many addresses that i had which was most of those who use email.

nothing is productive to a JW if its against the JWs in any form. JWs are only productive when they're supporting the group.

) and have gone to kh for some talks and study every couple of weeks.

things like the new watchtower policy, selling buildings (i am from nyc and know the heights well - that will make a boatload of money), the sex abuse settlements, drop in membership and donations, and some of the changes i have seen in the magazine (the annointed qfr, for example).

ok i started thinking tonight which is always a bad idea after i've had a long, really pressuring, day at work.

but i've been in this sort of confused uncomfortable state lately about whether i believe in god or not.

i finally got past the actual guilt of having these questions because i knew that was just what was drilled into my skull in my past.

Missanna, thats exactly my biggest problem ever. Okay, i never experienced MYSELF something supernatural. But ive heard so many stories about it that its hard to not believe in it. Yours adds to that pile.

Sometimes im like going back to the dubs despite all my doubts, just because it drives me crazy.

i dont feel like searching for "another truth" for now, but evil spirits make me feel uncomfortable to being lazy.

May i ask, WHAT happened to your sister?

Truly disgusting plead for cash in KM School this week

i wish i had posted this earlier so you guys could have gone to school this week to check it out, but the km school was a long winded plea plea for cash donations, reminding us that "jehovah will be grateful".. how i wanted to raise my hand and ask if the great need was related to paying off the child molestors or ask what happened to the$100s of millions from the property sale, or ask why they needed money after kicking out all the bethelites (two booted bethel couples in the congo).

anyway you guys missed a good laugh.

if anyone wants i'll post the km magazine.

ive seen it too. in my kh there were A LOT of cash beggings the last months. almost every time i go the kh theres a talk about cash. the WTS needs cash seriously i guess.

So I finally broke the ice with my fiancee....

for those of you that don't know, i've recently had many doubts about the org and realized that i can't just let them go.

the thing was however, that i was nervous as to how my fiancee would react when i would make my doubts known to her.

so.....i finally talked to her today and it went a little something like this.......... i started with us reading together acts.

oh my god! im so envy! my girl knows that im doubting. when i come up with the bible she says already that she dont wanny hear it, because she knows thats something somehow negative about the org is at the end. i never discussed a topic to the end with her because after two or three sentences she gets angry and covers her ears saying, that she dont wanna hear it.

its my fault in the first place. before i said anything to her about doubting i was depressed and i havent seen a solution to my misery (doubting but no chance to leave without breaking my whole social surroundings) which resulted in crying myself out after circuit assembly one day (i felt like suicide). i guess that proved to her that i lack godly blessing before i told her my real thoughts calmly in first place, like you did.

good approach. i should have spoken to her earlier when i had my first real doubts... instead of having fear of humans. damn.

what is the net effect of every year that our loving god jehovah, who is patient and desires "none to be destroyed", holds back the winds of destruction?

it ultimately results in roughly 80 million more humans to be added to the pile of post-armageddon bird food.

i've read this concept several times before on jwd but decided to do a little googling to get the 80 million number.

its true what you are posting, but thats just jehovah god who has the right to slaughter anyone if he likes it.

remember the flood! a family vs. the whole world population. do you think any single person + kiddies and babies knew exactly what they were doing? for most them noah was just a weired guy (like jw are now). but that didnt stop jehovah from killing.

what about jericho? were the israelites preaching all the ppl to convert them? no. sound the horn, walls falling... MO-MO-MO-MO-MONNNSTERKILL-ILL-ILL...

like it or hate it: its the god of the bible. its very loving from him to send the JWs out to warn us with very weired human teachings before he lets the fire rain... in comparison to his acting in the hebrew scriptures. only jesus was not this way. what is very alien to me. since he was LIKE god.

i remember in a book study reading that there are more people alive on the earth today than have ever lived in the past.......6 billion.

so is it true that less than 6 billion people have ever lived up to this century?.

i heard all that fantastic speculations too. but the only one that put me silent was: "jehovah will care, its wrong to imagine it now". maybe this... or everything is a hoax ;)

your reply dont answers question but shows a open minded view of things. i like that very much.

i guess we have just to live with some things in life. and why should i bother about things i never saw, i never experienced? which are likely twisted and can be misinterpreted by anyone. and the human brain is a complex machinery which can cause many many things we dont understand fully.

i guess i shouldnt bet too much on those stories. i better use the things i can prove instead.
