what kind of elders daughter are you?.
i am a elders daughter currently and would like to know how you feel about being an elders daughter.
tell some of your experinces or situations cause of you being an elders daughter.. thanks .
My dad is an Elder - I'm so anti-JW it isn't funny! When my siblings and I were growing up he had to step down so many times it wasn't funny. Most of it was just teenagers being teenagers. Nothing serious but you know how JW's are!
Now he's in Elder heaven, all the kids are grown up and no one to make him look bad so he's happy as a pig in $h^!

weren't the 100+ questions prior to our baptism proof of how much becoming a jw is based on their teachings and doctrines?
i can just see it now, apostle john asking jesus all that crap.
linda.
It's sad to say but I don't even remember the questions, I vaguely remember sitting in the front row of the assembly hall while the baptism talk was going on, and then being dunked. I remember hoping that I went all the way under cause I didn't want to have to do it twice. That's all I remember from the whole damn day!
Pretty sad, huh? Shows how much I cared about it, I remember my mom saying (after the dunk) - I'm gonna have to do your hair all over again tonight *sigh* *shakes her head and rolls her eyes*. I though they wanted me to do it and she had to know my hair would get wet There is just no pleasing that crazy mother of mine!

a while ago someone here asked about money saving ideas for food.
i told him about the share food program which i used in california but was unable to find the program here in indiana.
i recently found it here but the host location was too far to make it economically feasible.
There was a time when I couldn't contribute, now I can. For me, it's all about paying it forward.
I couldn't have said it better. When I first left home with a newborn at age 18, I had my best friends parents to help me out. If it wasn't for their love and help I don't know where I would have ended up. When we moved into our own apartment we got food stamps and wic, but as soon as we both (my best friend who also had an infant) started making enough money we cut it off. We both could have stayed on it, food stamps, money wic but thought that others needed it more. The only thing we both continued was the day care program, and then we paid a percentage of that.
My point to this is, I try not to judge others. It's not for me to say what they need or do not need. Sure there are some that milk the system and take for free even if they don't have to. But for those that truely in need, regardless of why or how they got there if my 25.00 will help someone so be it! If I get something somewhere down the line for my generosity (measly 25.00) that's great, if not I feel good knowing that someone had a decent meal, shirt, pants, etc.........

you know, when the haunting trauma of being out of the organization rears it's ugly head- .
my husband and i have been out for almost 9 months now and i still struggle with so many emotions.
some days/weeks i'm fine and other times i just have so much bottled up, i feel like exploding.
((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))
I know exactly how you feel. I had one of those days yesterday. I was replying to a thread and all of a sudden I was crying, angry and I couldn't explain it and I've been out for almost 25 years!
You just gotta roll with the punches. Enjoy the good times and good feelings and accept the bad ones for what they are. Cry if you have too or when you need to. I think most if not everyone here can relate!

I looked into one in my area - in local grocery stores you can donate a box of food $25.00 and they will give it to a family in need. So I donated.
I didn't mean it as a put down, just wanted to make sure I was understanding it. I'm only a couple of pay check away from being "needy" myself. For now I'll continue to donate, but nice to know it exists!
Sylvia - I'm glad your boss looked out for you. So many employers kick you right out the door when all you need is a little time and understanding to get back on your feet. Hang in there!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like this is for underpriviledge or needy families? I think I would feel like I'm taking something from someone who needs it more. Maybe I read it wrong!
I'm not rich but I use coupons to save money when it come to groceries. Sometimes I go to 3 or 4 different stores just to get their buy one get one free or other bonus sale items. Have to be carefull with meat thou, they usually mark up the price to something crazy. Kroger has a 50% of sale on chicken breasts, so I go and check it out a package of 3 boneless skinless breasts total price 12.89 marked down to 6.00. I laughed all the way out of the store.
