i am quite keen to understand why anyone would create?

it seems they are more than a handful of people who create images of themseves on her that bear no resmblance to the reality. The knock on effect of that for me is that I dont really want to engage with anyone new on here anymore, just maintiain the circle that I have - and a wonderful buch you are too. I honestly couldnt wish for a better family. The ones who make stories up here - I just feel sorry for because they are missing out on so much.

Hey crumpet - I couldn't agree more! I don't post here very often anymore. Some things I read and say "yeah right".

My First Interview

well, all that work on my resume has finally paid off.

i just received a telephone call to set up my first interview.

really need some help please

hey everyone, my name is erich and i'm 19 and i have just suffered a break up with my jehovahs witness girlfriend.

we dated for over two years and we recently broke up.

i broke up with her because she was sad that she wasn't true to her religion and i felt terrible i was keeping her from it.

And now I feel obligated to "fix" her. I don't know why.

Huh? You can't fix another human being. Her sex life is her business. When, why, how and with whom to have sex or give up her virginity is her choice not yours or anyone else's.

If you want to be friends with her then be her friend. But trying to fix anyone is just wrong. If you were my son, I tell him to get the hell away from anyone who is a JW.

Screen Name = From NJ and used to be JW so ex-nj-jw. Although I wish I could change my screen name. I don't like to even be referred to as having been associated with JW's. Oh well!

ok i am in the middle of a dilemma.

after para spoke to his parents about us leaving the organization, they decided not to associate with us.

agree to not narc us out to the elders.

Maybe not close the door but be very cautious. If I knew then what I know now, I would keep my children away from my parents (mom especially) without a doubt. She has done more harm than good to my oldest son, he's 25 and F*^%$# up in the head because of her.

Don't leave your children alone with any JW imo. Talk it over with the hubby and make the decision together. Most of all protect your children!

Beauty out of Neglect (Pictures)

on my travels this morning, i drove past an abandonded farm.

i've driven past here before, and stop there every may/june and pick the sweetest smelling lilacs.

something compelled me today to turn around and go back and do some exploring and take pictures.

Great pics BB - the snow is beautiful, but I like to look at only any closer and I hate it. I guess it comes from living in the Northeast and having to deal with snow, ice and freezing cold!

Have you ever intentionally said crazy things from the platform?

like have you said stuff that is just outright insane like "each and every one of us should be ready and willing to die for the society" purely in the hopes that you'd turn someone off?

i imagine for most of us trying to fade that would be the most difficult thing to do, but some people are really good at shutting down and just going with a flow, too.. .

i ask because it's the only possible explanation i can come up with for some of the really bat-shit insane stuff i've heard come from the podium.

What did you learn as a JW that helps you in your work today

note: if you are cautious about being outted then be very careful what you post.. the biggest thing i learned was sign language.

after i left i had a few jobs interpreting.. public speaking - didn't help me at all - that could be because speaking to someone else on the platform doesn't gives women an opportunity to address the audience.

i took a intro course in public speaking that was far better than 22 years of the ministry school.. i'm thinking .

ex-nj-jw - Oh please, girl. We all know about your wine addiction. Maybe this could be a wake up call for you? The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Addiction? Naw, I'm just a wine Connoisseur - yea I like that better than addition We won't even talk about what's in my "work bag" that's bigger and hasn't been cleaned out for a month. There might just be a bottle of wine in there *nj checking bag*.

As for cleaning out our lives and get'n rid of the baggage. I agree letting go is hard but necessary.
