I was the one that made the elders work for their titles!!
Yup that about sums it up for me too! The elders were probably glad that I never came back, I know I was a pain in their arse

were you really not considered a good little witness?
.
were you one of the "bad" ones that everyone was cautioned about?.

i was coming out of the grocery store with a few items, and a round the corner comes a woman with 2 young.
boys about 7 or 8. she seemed a little clutsey, she raises her voice, the whole damn parking lot could of heard.. they were walking a head of her, she says "if you trip me boy, your going to sit in the truck all day.
like a lot but geez its 29 degrees celsius and extremely humid.
I don't know hope, I disagree. With kids you gotta get them straight when it's happening. Waiting until you get home is like giving them a free pass to talk or act in whatever way they want. They tend to forget or at least have selective amnesia about things.
Everyone is entitled to have their opinions but in my case with raising 3 boys, no way would I sweet talk them or let them get aways with bad behavior just because other people were around.

Wow! you guys are passing pretty harsh judgement don't you think? I've said to my kids things like "If you don't watch you mouth you'll be picking your teeth up off the floor", "don't make me smack the living shite out of you".
We have a great relationship, they talk to me and hubby. We are and have always been very active in their lives and love them to death. But we also don't take any crap off of them, never dealt with temper tantrums in public and didn't have to deal with back talk and smart ass mouths.
Try not to be so judgemental on how a parent speaks to their child when you only see a milisecond in their lives.

my son called me yesterday, first time in probably 6 weeks, because he lost his car keys, the car is in my name, so i had to get another set from the dealership.
anyways, it doesn't really matter what he called about, it was just in 6 weeks he only calls because he needs something, not a peep before that (very hurtful).
a brother drove him to my office and it was quittin time so i went outside with him and gave him the keys, i was hurt and didn't say much to him.
Well, let him know you are cancelling the insurance, then. He's disowned his mother. Let him feel the pain of paying the full cost of that decision.
I agree with jgnat!
As mothers we always want better for our children and we don't want to see them hurt, suffer or need for things. But if he loves jehoover more than his mother, let jehoover and the JW's pay for his insurance. He can't have it both ways, time to cut the cord! He's a man making manley decisions, let him take care of his own insurance.

the society seems to make a huge thing about reading the bible daily, and yet they have a problem when people do so without the 'aids' - i.e the publications.
so is bible reading on its own frowned upon?
i never did it anyway, it was boring.
I never did it anyway, it was boring. Give me any other good book and I'll be hooked.
That's how I always felt. I've tried in the past to just pick it up and read but it was soooo boring. I love to read and I have a boat load of books, but that damn bible just doesn't hold my attention.

when i was a hardcore jw, i closed my eyes and paid attention to the prayer, because i believed we were communicating with god.
what a privilege!
now, it has been some time since i closed my eyes when the jws pray.
I got smacked once right up side the head immediately after my mom said amen, because my eyes weren't closed I felt dizzy after that one! I wanted to smack her back because obviously she didn't have her eyes closed either

i just got this in my email from an elder's wife (she knows i am not going to meetings):.
pearls.
the cheerful girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five.
Okay just because of the warning I just had to look, now I feel ill. What idiot parent would torture a child like that, stupid, stupid, stupid

the universe featuring the "moon" is on the history channel if anyone is interested.. nj.
Hey Cas
Well they were saying that the moon is very much like the earth. One big difference is that the earth's core is solid iron and the moon doesn't have a solid iron core the whole thing is more like rock. Have you ever logged onto the history channel.com? If not you should check it out. Lot's of picture of the universe, galaxies, etc...
If I could take a trip to the moon or even just into space I would. That would be my ultimate fantasy to explore the universe.

i feel angry, bitter, resentful and stupid.
when i was in my 30's and young and strong, and had a long stretch of life ahead of me, i went along with the jw's and didn't get my education.
now that i am 50, divorced and barely making a living as a teacher aide, i am scrounging around trying to get the loans and grants to enable me to go to school to earn a b.a.
It's never too late to get your education! Why do you need a man to take care of you? Take care of yourself. If you meet someone that you happen to fall in love with and want to spend the rest of your life with, great! But maybe you should work on you right now and let other things fall in place.
It's 2008, women have brains and really can take care of ourselves. If we have a good man by our side to help out, keep us company and enjoy life with it's a bonus. But stop feeling like you need someone to "take care of you".
Good luck, you can do anything you want.

Was that the episode that showed the earth being hit and a huge chunk flew off and made the moon...?
Yup, that was the one. They were just throwing out some theories of how the moon came about and this was one theory.
