  like an awful lot of people on this site i have spent far to much time trying to rationalise my thoughts and my journey as a human being.

  i have been to places of deep despair and resurfaced looking the same, months or even years later but the internalised paul changed.

  with this in mind let me ask you something, humour me for a moment.

  I agree with statement below.

  Freedom is a basic human foundation block.

  But, freedom is not something the JW's have. When you hold family; children and friends hostage from someone you take away their freedom to choose.

  Some, like me don't give a ratz arse who is being held hostage and we break away and live our lives. The JW's still have a way of tapping into our lives though whether it be from parents that withold serious medical information about themselves or other family members because you, as a heathen don't deserve to know that particular family member is very ill, they bring up the big A whenever possible to try to scare you into coming back, etc. It's non-stop, even when you put up your boundaries and don't alow them, they find a way to try to break it. As a non-jw you always have your guard up.

  Others, like many on this board stay because they can't imagine life without those people in their lives. So they stay, no freedom there.

  Nasty lyrics in hip hop and Jamaican music where I work! What to do??

  ok...i have three teenagers, ive heard my share of over the top hip hop rap and head banging metal music.

  and i pick my battles with that, and know that i cant really control what my kids listen to any more but dont have to have it played in my car with me in it or in my house with me present.

  so i start the late night shift where i work, and its a totally different atmosphere there...laid back...which i really like...but with that comes everybody's choice of music to play while they work.

  I'm sorry but I'm sitting here laughing my ass off, not at you or your situation but I can feel your pain girl. I know I wouldn't be able to handle it. I have no advise to give you but you have my sympathies!

  I on the other hand am sitting here in my office with the door closed, doing paperwork and listening to old school R&B (Smokey Robinson is on right now), great way to end the work day.

  PS. I have 3 sons and their music is not allowed in my presence. It's not even music, like you said it's yelling and screaming, there isn't even a beat to dance to! What's wrong with them? Back to my paperwork and Smokey

  as many of you know, while i was already a member of this forum and very much awake i became an elder.

  so, there is no holy spirit involved on those appoinments boys and girls.. i tried my best wake up people, but is not that easy you know.. months later i decided it was enough and decide to move away.

  i can't give you any details at the moment, but .... rumor has it, i am not an elder anymore.

  elder snooping on facebook

  my dad rang me last night really upset coz he had decided to go on facebook under a fake name to see what some people were up to in his hall and while he was there he decided to type my name in and he did not loike what he saw ie low tops short skirts the ex jw groups im on and also the night out i went on last sat with our very own sirona (a known apostate who apperently 'ruined my faith' according to my family).

  anyway he's coming tonight to help me deactivate my account and i'm not going to he knows i dont want the 'truth' so why is he still trying to control me?.

  and also like i pionted out these people hes checking out will not be happy hes been snooping and he can't see it just thinks he is helping them?.

  33? Wow, the only person I cared about disappointing at 33 were me and my children! Never let yourself down and try to never let your children down. Everyone else if your decisions disappoint them, screw them!

  The cost of going undercover to help family and friends - Is it worth it?

  so all of you that are trying to help your family and friends as a disassociated person, or disfellowshipped, or sort-of-shunned.. what do you think about getting reinstated or reactivated to help them get out?.

  the time invested would be two meetings a week, about 6 hours total including driving.

  for those on the outside, you would have to get reinstated, so you would need 2-3 months of going to meetings making sure the elders see you and know your intention.. add field service in there.

  Cordelia,

  You are a grown A$$ woman! "he's coming over to help you deactivate your account"? WTF? They are still trying to control you becaue YOU have not set your boundaries and continue to allow them to contol you. Stop playing their game, tell them to mind their own business and if they don't respect you and the boundaries you set tell them to F*%& off!

  Sorry if that sounds harsh but either you stand up for yourself or stop complaining about it. It's your choice either be a JW cause you can't live without them or take charge of you and your daughter's life.

  I just want this to stop!

  as some of you know my husband became ill and we lost our house in indiana.

  my parents offered to help and although i really didn't want to do it knowing that my parents have limited resources i really didn't have a choice.

  i also wanted to come back to a place that was familiar and where most of my family and friends are.

  Mrs. J - I know the feeling.

  My crazy JW mom call social services on me once. My kids were 2 mos, 2 1/2 and 5. They came in stripped my kids searched my house, looked in cabinets, fridge, everything and left stating the charges were unfounded! I was beyond pissed, the trauma this caused to my kids all because I refused to let her see the kids, take them to the meetings (or go myself) and she hates my husband because of course he's the reason I won't come back to Jehoover, I'm pissed all over again now just thinking about it, idiots

  I know you guys are having a tough time right now and I truely hope things will get better very very soon. I had to cut off all ties with my mother and father because they couldn't keep their noses out of my personal business, you may have to do the same.

  i don't want hopscotch's thread diverted anymore than it has been so i'm starting this one.. this is an opportunity to speak up and let us know how you actually feel about jesus christ.

  let's face it, for good or ill he was a major influence in all of our lives.

  frankly, i think the biblical jesus is despicable and i'll be posting my views in full tomorrow after a good nights sleep.. jesus should be ashamed of himself .
