  Jehovah Witnesses and love

  hello friends, my name is daniel, i was baptized a catholic a few months after i was born but i don't practice.

  i'm having personal problems and i'd like you to give me some insight.

  i'm in love with a wonderful devoting girl who happens to be a jehovah witness.

  Son run for the hills, stay far far far away from that cult. I'm sorry that you think you are in love, but you really don't want to get mixed up with these people.

  Maybe she (your love) will leave them for you but I seriously doubt it. Before you know it you will be baptized, miserable, couple kids, have the elders all up in your bizness, and eventually may have your wife and kids taken from you by this cult and it is a CULT, born and raised in it, know it from inside out!!!

  Please do not leave your family and friends for this type of life, you will regret it.

  Sorry I'm not more positive but I know this situation very well.

  after sweating, praying, and driving my husband crazy for the last week, they called today.

  my second interview will be next wednesday sometime around 12 or 1pm, they'll call to finalize the time.

  i gotta make a skirt.. josie.

  Yeah, so I go to the meeting the other day

  so i live in indiana, and we got a lot of snow the other day.

  so i come home from work and it is really pretty bad out, but i've lived in indiana a long time and i've driven in snow and it's not hard you just need to be careful.

  so i go to the meeting (yeah i'm dfd i told all you guys this).

  HI Jamie (welcome to the board)

  At the risk of sounding judgemental WHY is it that you continue to attend these meetings, and why do you still want to be in this cult?

  I hope no offense is taken, I just have a hard time understanding how anyone can still want to be associated with this cult after reading some most of the threads.

  i received a letter in the mail today from my mother.

  my mother who when growing up a jw was considered a trouble maker.

  hello all...i've been searching for some sort of comfort in my situation.

  i found a story written by "iamfreenow" aka marion.

  i found some comfort to know that i am not alone in my challenging of my faith.

  Mals welcome to the board,

  I wish I could type something to make you feel better. When I walked away from this cult I didn't feel like I lost a lot, my family pretty much kept communications open with me, my mom tried to be a hard A** but maybe the risk of loosing contact with her grandchild made her keep in touch.

  The friends I had growing up had already begun to fade because I really didn't associate with them. I had more non JW friends and they are still my friends and supporters today.

  So, keep your chin up, try to move on. If you do get reinstated then fade do you think things will be better with your family and friends?? Chances are that if these people are not there for you now they won't be there later!!

  It's amazing that soooo many people have the same experiences and they said we would be alone if we left!! HA

  how long until they really start cracking down on me?

  any former/current elders especially.

  i am currently an elder and basically miss at least one meeting a week and never go out in service on sundays and seldom on saturdays.

  my great grandmother was a witness and i was in the truth in my young childhood.

  my mother is disfellowshipped and i am currently studying with my husband, who knew nothing about the truth but had been very good at studying and has great knowledge about the bible.
