all in one night.. per some good advice a few weeks back from this board, i have attended my first 'service club' meeting of my life.

carmel had suggested to try kiwanis international - and so i did.

the introduction began to break jwism's from the get-go [precisely where i am at in my paradigm].

I need help from researchers

i recently started talking to an old friend that is still a jdub.

i think he is starting to have some doubts about jdubism due to some events in his personal life recently.. i think i remember a thread not too long ago about different pagan beliefs/rituals that jdub's observe.

like wedding rings, bridal gowns and the whole bridal shower stuff, and if i'm not mistaken the whole wedding cermony thing also.. if anyone knows where i can find out this information that shows some pagan rituals that jdub's currently participate in i would greatly appreciate it.. thanks a million.

do we pair off with people who look like we do?the thought of what physically attracts one individual with another crossed.

my mind recently and it raised some questions about the subject.

there are some dating websites that promote relationship compatibility .

I don't know???? I'm light skinned (father black mother latino) and my husband is darker skinned. Now out of a family of 7, my siblings that are light skinned as I am all have dark skinned mates, the darker skinned siblings have light skinned mates, so I'm not sure how that fits in.

We all have different body types and shapes as far as spouses go, so I can't even begin to evaluate that one as far as my family goes.

Freedom of Speech

my family has had an interesting evolution over the past few years of being exjws.. as jws, it didn't even occur to us to use profanity or vulgar language.

jehovah's witnesses don't speak that way - at least that's how i was brainwashed to believe - although i knew plenty of jws who do.. once we started experiencing the real world, it no longer seemed like such a crime (or sin, to be more precise) to say the occasional word that might get *bleeped* on tv.. after a while though, it grew old.

i started to feel that it wasn't my nature to talk that way, and using that language was not conducive to who i wanted to be as person and a professional.

I personally am guilty of cussing like a sailor, and have done so around my children. However, they have never used this language (with the exception of my oldest, another story) at me. I have always told them, I'm an adult and can speak the way I choose, when you become an adult you can speak the way you choose. And it's worked!!

Consequences for speaking that way may work for you and yours - teenagers are easy to punish, no phone, no cell phone, no video games, no tv, no ipod, and driving is the best - use the old "driving is a priviledge not a necessity!!!! and take away the learners permit if they have one. Punishing teenagers is sooo easy!!! Take advantage of it, it works better than time out in a chair for a 3 year old!!

I just got out of the hospital now marco is in the hospital .

i am looking all through my postings to see if my son richard posted about my being rushed to the hospital on may 1st.

and i guess he didn't do as i asked, little monkey wait till i get my hands on that boy.. yes this little furry beastte was in the hospital with a rare form of viral bronchial pneumonia,, that of course with asthma ,sent my body into a downward spiral.

to beat all attached to this vicious virus is the attack on the brain.

Female, 42, African American, 3 sons, left the cult 24 years ago, married for 21 years. Still have family in that I do have contact with although limited. Born in the cult, baptized age ???13/14???? because I was told by my father that if I didn't get baptized #1 "I'd have to get out of his house", #2 "I'd never be able to get married"!!!!

Walked away at age 18, moved out to live with my best friend and her family, got married at age 21, still married to the same wonderful man!!

Do You Miss Not Being With Your JW Family & Friends?

personally, i keep very little contact with any of my witness family except my mom.

i don't miss the conditional friends or family, really.

but i do know that many here are devastated by their being abandoned.

No. I don't miss them. I still speak with my 2 brothers that are still in and although I have a strained relationship with the parents, we still speak.

As for the friends, they obviously were not my friends!!!

URGENT HELP: I need some help with statistics calculations - please!

okay so this is for an assignment - due in at midnight tomorrow.

its a tiny part of it but the accuracy is paramount and i can't get my head around it and so if anyone can help with the math i'd be very grateful.. .

i want to show what percentage higher the gni of the uk is above france.

Got a phone call today I hope I never get again!

my husband called me today - and right away i knew from the sound of his voice something was wrong.

he didn't say much, just that he had an accident at work and was at the hospital, could i please come right away.

thankfully he was not seriously physically hurt, but he was in shock and they had to give him some lorazepam to settle him down.
