Yup, many times! The last and the worst punishment was being public reprooved, I couln't comment at meetings and couldn't go in field service Just those to punishments alone made me a very happy person!

by "discipline" i mean, either private, public reproof, disfellowshipping or something that got you in enough trouble that you had to be counseled by the loving shepherds and it cost you something by not having "privileges".

i am a baptized jw that faded some years back.
in those days i deeply believed in the org and became disillusioned by some things happening in the local congregation.
following some research on the net i decided to fade out of watchtower existence because i did not want to keep mixing with false religion (or so i thought at the time).
This is a all or nothing type of religion cult. You will not be allowed to accept just things you want or just attend a meeting once a week. Which I'm sure you already know.
If being a Jdub makes you happy go for it. I will never step foot inside another KH (with the exception of my parents funeral of course) and then I'm sure I'd be miserable.
Just my 2 pennies!

i was wondering... i have been avoiding someone on the phone for months.
i usually keep my cell phone off for days and weeks at a time.
but somehow whenever i do turn my phone on, i get a call within a couple of minutes.. now at first i thought it was just a coincidence.... but not anymore, it happens every time i turn on my phone.
On my cell phone I can restrict calls I don't want! Don't know about tracking software.

on a thread discussing another thread it was said;.
we'll never be "right", not completely anyway.. so for a spin-off of a spin-off...i'm curious what others thoughts are on this statement?.
is it a worldview a lot of us have?
Right meaning that we're ok since leaving the org, getting our minds right after being brainwashed ?
If so, I think given time yes we will be. Some may never be "right" or may never perceive themselves to be right or ok with life in general. I think all of us (ex-jw's) will never be as trusting of other people, but I do think you can move on and have a very meaningfull happy life.
It's all about what you put into it. If you mope around, blame everything that goes wrong in your life on the way you were raised or on the cult you happend to be involved in for a time, then no, I don't think you will ever be right. You eventually have to let go, not forget, but let go.

having an individual viewpoint and perspective on matters isolated an individual within the .

Individual, have never been a follower. I guess that's why I left the BORG when I was 18, didn't want other people making decisions for me.
I'm also a loner, I enjoy be alone reading mostly.

my daughter, rebekah, has had persistent, debilitating headaches for about four years now.
as i write, she should be in surgery.
she is having surgery for chronic sinusitis and a deviated septum.
I hope everything goes ok, let us know how she's doing.

is a certain "uptightness" creeping into our community?.
should we be scolding one another?.
especially kids?
I don't think anyone was being judgemental, he put it out there and we responded. I have a 17, 19 and 24 year old and I would give them the same ADVISE as he was given.
It was not cute, funny or in any way amusing. If he felt he had to have something to drink because he had to go and that was the only way he could get through it and just sat at his seat without trying to seduce a teenager (mind you that is statutory rape by the way), find people to harass, embarras anyone then go for it. But it was my understanding from his reply that he didn't have to go, he chose to go.
As I said in my post when he originally told us what he was going to do, "do you think no one will smell the alchohol"? It seems he did more to embarras himself than anyone else!
Just my 2 cents!
