  we have been exchanging emails and i asked if i could post this one, maybe we can help him out.. .

  this past 3 weeks of reading, digesting and forming some of my own opinions has been harrowing, to say the least.

  you could pretty much chalk me up to being emotionally fragile.

  I wish I new what to say to help your friend purps, but I have nothing. I can't even relate to his experience because for me it wasn't even an issue when I left. I just knew it wasn't for me and walked. I didn't care who it affected all I knew was that it wasn't going to affect me and my kids (it still did in a way, because of my meddling mother).

  When I left I walked out and never played their game, never went to another elders meeting, meeting, memorial,assembly, nothing.

  I'm glad I got away without it affecting me as it does so many others that post here. My heart really goes out to those who can't for whatever reason just walk away.

  Tell your friend that he/she is in my thoughts, keep his/her head up and don't let them ruin another day of your life if you can help it. We have no way of knowing if there is anything after this life so enjoy what you have now and don't worry about what comes next because life is too short!

  DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MYELODYSPLASTIC SYNDROME?

  i just got some awful news.

  my jw brother in law has been diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome.

  needless to say, we are all extremely upset as it is a potentially life-threatening illness that can turn into leukemia.

  Hey Mary,

  I'm sorry to hear about your BIL. I don't know anything about his condition but I could try to get a hold of one of the Oncology docs where I work and see if they can give me any info. I know his physicians will be more than helpfull if you guys have questions, but if you want me to check on anything specific just let me know and i'll be more than happy to pin down one of the oncology guys and ask.

  Let me know if you need my help. You and your family are in my thoughts!

  when we lived in livermore, ca a special talk was given by brother from bethel.

  he used an illustration that really stuck with me to describe the role of the fds.

  What is the average age of those who no longer believe?

  i have been reading many posts today and some of you have mentioned your age and how long you have been away from the org.made me start wondering what the average age is for most on this site who no longer go along with the org.

  My parents became JW's just before I was born. So I guess that made me 2nd generation. I left at age 18 and never went back. Our now for 26 years!

  BTW not DF'd or DA'd just walked away from the non-sense.

  The teaching of the resurrection

  we all know that the wtbts teaches that there will be a resurrection to an.

  earthly paradise if you die faithfull to the organization.

  Yes, the spirit survives death and if you "died in Christ," your spirit goes and stays with Him until the rapture/resurrection of the saints/Body of Christ, at which time Christ descends from heaven in the clouds (does not come all the way back to the earth at this time), and brings those spirits with Him, and their spirits and bodies are reunited at that time and instantly changed "in the twinkling of an eye" into immortal, incorruptible bodies like Christ has had since His resurrection. (1 Th 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15). Flesh and Soul (your mind/will/emotions/intellect) and Body are reunited at that time and instantly changed to eternal bodies fit for glory with Christ so we can "see him just as he is." Ditto for "we who are alive and remain" at the time of that rapture/resurrection of the saints in Christ. That group will never have to die at all, but will be "caught up" to the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and their bodies also will be instantly changed to immortal, incorruptible bodies.

  Lastly, the "judgment of these believers" is not a judgment as to salvation (since we were eternally sealed/saved upon putting faith in Christ's shed blood for our sins), but the "judgment" believers will face is the "judgment seat of Christ" a/k/a the Bema Seat Judgment, which is when believers will receive crowns and rewards or whether their crownds/rewards will be withheld. Salvation was already guaranteed at the time one puts faith in the finished work of Christ for our sins, but rewards are not an automatic "done deal":

  Most parents would be proud...

  about a year ago, he had an emotional crisis and questioned a lot of things, including his faith.

  i thought (and hoped) that he would consider his beliefs and come realize that his beliefs were part of his crisis.

  this was not the case, but he and i continue to be on good terms.

  Girl I know exactly how you feel! You, I and Farkel all have the same parents it seems.

  I gave up a long time ago trying to make my mother proud of me. I tried but the more I tried the more miserable I felt. The only thing that came out of that is that I'm an overacheiver Finally I just accepted the fact that even if she never ackowledged it, i was a good person and I am proud of myself. Nothing to prove to anyone except me (and my kids)

  And yes, any other parent would be proud of you for who you are. Not what church you attend or religion you choose. Keep you chin up and try not to let their stupid little cult rules and regulations get to you.

  Quiet "persecution" on the KH street?

  do you notice at the nearby kh, that many of the residents near the hall display unusually large flags or crosses on the lawn or other such icons that appear to be directly and purposely to register disgust at having a kh in their neighborhood?.

  what sort of deliberate decoration have you noticed?.

  What I notice most is that most everyday people don't know much about or really care much about the JW's. What little they know is that they are a strange little religion that doesn't celebrate holidays.

  You can't be persecuted if people really don't care much about you.
