  How long will it be before JW's start beating each other up - Study Night

  i wonder how long into the new year it will be when the witnesses start to hammer each other in relation to the new 'family study night' arrangement.

  can you imagine it?

  "oooh, i hear that bro & sis slack-the-hand are regularly out & about on a tuesday night.

  an elderly sister called me yesterday...we talked for an hour... she knows I dont go anymore...

  she was telling me about all the new "arrangements" for field service.... how Brother so-and-so (usually a MS) and another Brother (either MS or upandcomingyoungbrother) was the "Assistant" at homes all over the territory. I thought...you must be kidding?

  Then she said that their TMS/SM/CBS combo meeting was being moved from the traditional Thursday night to Tuesday night.... (thus freeing the R&F from Wed through Sat of the mindnumbing spiritual feasts )... I can see the KHs that only house one congo doing that..having Sunday/tuesday meetings...

  no one but the most loony are going to be having the Family Night Study...and they are already doing it.

  Cancelled bookstudy- but do you remember 4 day Assemblies!!!

  assemblies used to go for 5 days which caused problems for brothers with work so....it was changed to thursday to sunday......then half of thursday to sunday.....then 3 days only.

  does anyone remember this....i remember 3 and a half days.

  8 day assemblies--1969.

  ******SHUDDER******

  1978 (old) Busch Stadium - St. Louis, MO. I think it was 4 days... 1/2 day Thursday afternoon (field circus in the morning...some out of towners came up our 800 ft driveway as we were getting ready to leave...my JW dad had fun with them as he hid his name tag).... Fri, Sat, Sun....blazing hot... 120F degrees on the field (Astroturf at that time).... I dont remember hardly anything of that convention...other than that stupid globe on top of a tower in the outfield...any one else remember that or is that a false memory?) I was 11 at the time...I have swiss cheese for memories... how did my ADD self even tolerate that experience?

  this past year has seen this group experience many joys and sorrows.

  so many have had serious struggles this past year.

  it has been wonderful to see the amazing support offered to all those who need it.

  Thank you for not only providing this (mostly) soft place to land...but keeping it going through JWN.

  2008: Posters you havent seen in awhile..who do you miss?

  i was looking for a photo that was posted here awhile back (over a year ago)... i found it ).... and realized i havent seen some of those people post here in awhile... a few i see posting on other boards.... any posters you miss "seeing" here?

  maybe they will start posting again on jwn?.

  merry christmas to you jwd alumni may you have a great 2009 (even if you dont post here again...i miss seeing some of you).

  clean my house..oh sorry..that's tomorrow's goal not 2009.....

  pay off my credit card (reasonable chance)

  pay off my student loan (fat chance).

  finish my second associates degree.... start the bachelor's degree....

  get rid of the rest of my WT literature...

  move

  meet my future ex-wife... (kidding)

  i am afraid to ask what the hell pass the orange is? I've lived a sheltered life.

  cbb...

  I am probably staying in tomorrow...reading mostly....working on a budget for next year (is my life dull or what?).... continuing to clean the house...its been neglected more than I like the last 16 weeks of school.....

  I have a pile of music CDs I need to convert to mp3s so I can put them on my portable player...and another pile of miniDVDs from the last 2 years that I need to edit and put on larger DVDs.... thats what I need to be working on the next 3 weeks... I wanted to do some travel this month..but even with gas prices back down out of the stratosphere, I have some budget issues....lol ....
