Look I understand they trespassed on your property. But to react unkindly because they wore perfume? Is completely uncalled for. The majority do not have perfume allergies and it's your responsibility to either inform people who enter your home ( maybe a sign on the front door) or accept that maybe you need to address your allergy issues.
I wear perfume and will always wear perfume. If I had a friend who reacted to perfume I wouldn't wear it when she's around. But if I were out in public and wearing perfume and you got your knickers in a knot, you'd be copping a few choice words from me.
Ps I have a autoimmune disorder am allergic to the sun. I deal with it.

Are the GB very intelligent men with higher than average IQ? Or are they stupid men who were put in their position by sheer “LUCK”
by John Aquila inare the governing body of the wt wickedly smart with extremely high iq or are they leaders of the wt because they were at the right place at the right time.
(in other words, pure luck )-think lottery.
ive seen them talk in jwtv and you can never convince anyone in the whole world that these guys are in the same category as someone smart or cunning like jim simons who founded renaissance technologies or bill gates.

If you compare them to other religious leaders they come across as very uneducated. Really they are a dumb lot.
The royal commission showed this up really well.
It was actually embarrassing watching these uneducated elder buffoons then to have Geoffrey Jackson another uneducated bafoon as one of the leaders be squashed by the royal commission about the 2 witness policy, Angus and justice McClellan are not bible scholars yet they could point out the inconsistency using the bible.

Lurker trying to gain clarity
by questioningmyfaith inhello all, i would like to first say that i am basically questioning my faith in god.
i am not negative towards the wt at all.
so honestly i am to concerned with more ad hominem attacks towards the wt because i still love the organization and the people in it.

So questioningmyfaith you don't care about the thousands of deaths caused by the erroneous blood ban policy, organ transplants ban till 80's or immunisation ban till the 50s?or the amount of suicides that comes from shunning? Or the Malawi situation which if handled better would of most certainly saved lives. Or what about child abuse victims who feel the organisation has not done its job in protecting them and silencing the victims and then penalising the victims if they leave the organisation by demanding their families shunn them?
I was born into this cult and baptised as a child, found out its a bunch of lies, I want to officially leave to be free but will have my family ripped away from me because watchtower says so and you think watchtower and it's fantatical leaders are good people?
Let's see how you feel if you were ever told that they want you to die by refusing a blood transfusion when you are a young adult and you have a serious blood cancer, yet if you choose life and get caught taking a blood transfusion it's a dissasociating offence and will loose your entire family and friends at a time you need them most.
It's a dangerous cult and it needs to be either eradicated or changed to comply with human rights policies. No change, no tax exemptions and charity status should be given to them.
Jim Jones and watchtower leaders are equally deluded and are both or were ( in Jim jones case) murderers, elitist nutcases.

as long as shunning continues donations will be slow
by poopie inone of the reasons the watchtower is having problems with donations is because they have refuse to let go of wholesale across the board shunning.
the average publisher is sick of it and jehovah is withholding his full blessing.
when you do not show love to fellow humans you run the risk of not being able to show love which i'm turn has a direct relationship to your joy in turn if your not happy your not motivated to donate lots of money to and arrangement you perceive as unloving all you bethel lurkers convey this message to bro letters and rest of gb stop trying to convince fair minded people to support unloving shunning.

Yes I agree.
When still in I made a personal pledge to not donate till shunning was abolished.
I always hated it and I know many current jw's do.
I had a family member who was a elder say the same thing to me.
He stated secretly many hate this policy and are waiting for it to be reversed.
My best revenge tactic is when I attend a assembly / rarely, I get as many publications as I can and purposely don't donate.
It's my one finger salute to the watchtower.
Last assembly I wrote jwfacts.com on the toilet holder.
These f'ing idiots like to play dirty I play dirty back.
I have successfully faded out but still have my jw family intact and am able to mix amongst my jw friends and have actually pulled a friend out of the cult aswell. This friend has also successfully faded out and has now pulled his/her partner out aswell.
The domino effect......

The poor and deprived life of JW children.
by Esse quam videri ini find it hard to believe that adults on this forum make such a big deal about not celebrating birthdays, x-mas, easter, halloween, etc, etc, etc.
i grew up as a jw kid and it actually made me feel good, being different from the other kids in school.
we went to meetings.

"If you are an adult and feel you had a deprived childhood, grow up and get over it."
I don't post much on here but this deserved a response.
How dare you tell others how to feel!
Grow up and let people express their feelings .
How dare you discredit people's feelings.
This cult destroyed my young life, it also made me suppress my feelings, wasn't allowed to feel the way I felt. Then to have this attitude or opinion thrown in my face to suppress my feelings again is just another ones way to exercise to have their power over my feelings.
So excuse my language.....
Piss off
I don't tolerate cult mannerisms.

Do you remember the 15 minute break at the Sun. meeting?
by 3rdgen ina poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.
break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.
the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.

Oh yes i remember. Us kids used to climb the trees at the front of our hall. I used to tear my good meeting dresses and get a whacking before the watchtower started.
