  The Kool-Aid Edition

  i just found copies of the january 1, 2009 wt and the january awake that were left in public place.

  it was the first time i've looked at either rag in probably 10 years.. the writing is absolutely pathetic.. it got me to wondering.

  what does the kool-aid edition look like?

  The writing is absolutely pathetic.

  It got me to wondering.

  What does the Kool-Aid edition look like? Is the writing/reading also at a 4th grade level? Is it also 32 pages long? Are all of the articles in the KA version study articles?

  I don't even know why I care about it--just curious I guess.

  Has the KA edition accomplished what the BORG intended? What was the reason for the KA, by the way?

  Could a single decision/mistake bring down watchtower

  with decisions by bankers etc bringing down financial systems, other situations decisions have had wie ranging consequences makes one wonder if a single decision could bring things down.

  Interesting.

  If you think about it, when the mighty fall there probably wasn't a thought process that led to it....like, ...."well lets see how this goes....it could be a flaming disaster, but let's try it anyway."

  It's more like, "WTF were we thinking???....Why the hell did we do that?"

  So, yeah... I think they could make some decision that could start the whole thing unraveling.

  One can only hope.

  Has anyone ever had a broken humerus....not very humorous!

  some of you guys may remember that last fall i was talking about doing a cross-country bicycle trip.. well, that idea had to be scrapped, at least for a while.. two days before last thanksgiving, i broke my humerus.

  and, of course, since i am right handed it was my right arm.

  the doc said that it would be long, tedious recovery-- 6 to 8 months.

  Yeah, I know what you mean about being expected to just put everything on hold while the injury is healing. It is just not realistic.

  In any event, do whatever it takes to stay off of it -- especially if it means compromising your long term prognosis for 100% recovery.

  Geographic Cure

  a geographic cure is when someone moves away to escape their past in some way.

  .

  the optimal type of geographical cure is after the necessary internal changes and progress in healing have been made--essentially to escape the things/people in your surroundings that trigger negative emotions or behaviors in you.. the unhealthy type of geographical cure is running away in an effort to avoid doing the necessary healing work and make changes in oneself.. interested in your thoughts as it applies to healing from jwism.

  It's a wonderful thing that we have this option.

  Can you imagine living in Salem, Massachusetts with no where to go?

  I stayed for a couple of years in the area where I lived after I bailed on the BORG. Eventually, it was time for some changes. So, I made some very dramatic changes (geographic and others) all at once. Moved 1200 miles and went back to school on a mission to change my life. It worked and I've never been happier.

  Interesting!!!

  We have a lot more in common than either of us probably thought. I am finishing the last assignment (a 30 page paper) for a law degree. In fact, I should have finished this last fall, but the humerus problem has put a crimp on everything...although that is now improving along with my attitude.

  Very interesting observations.

  The parallels with Star Trek are uncanny.

  Do you remember the Star Trek episode (or it might have been a short series of episodes) in which Picard gave one of the Borg a name? Once Picard gave "Hugh" a name it allowed his thinking to be rewired so that he could think of himself as something other than part of the collective.

  A personal NAME is what unraveled the grip of the Borg.

  Just a thought. If you haven't seen the episode, it could be worthwhile to watch. In fact, if I get a chance I may dig it up and watch it.

  Wow. I would say 50% versus amputation is great outcome any way you cut it. No pun intended.

  Glad to hear that you have very little residual inconvenience with it.

  Now, I feel a little bad for complaining.
