If there was really a world-wide flood, why did the fresh water fish AND the salt water fish both survive?

by lavendar indid you ever have anyone, at the door, say something to you that created a seed of doubt in your mind about the wts?
something at all that started you thinking "maybe i'm really not in the truth".

If you have a lot of money and don't pioneer, it's a problem. If you pioneer, you can make as much money as you want.

i have known of older ones who have left the WT in their will and the relatives were furious after the fact. A KH in nearby Wisconsin that was thinking of closing up shop due to lack of membership also had a large contribution after someone died and built a new KH with the money. Most publishers don't contribute that much and young ones who are pioneers certainly don't. I felt that all of my time was taken up and I turned by life around by getting a small job so, no, they didn't get a lot of money from me in all of the years that I was in. Once the old-timers go who feel the need to put the WT in their will, I believe, there will be little in the way of contributions.

The idea that those who have been DFed are the only ones throughout all of the history of mankind who will not receive a resurrection and are considered wicked, yet those who would by their terms be considered unrighteous, i.e. ignorant of WT doctrine, get a pass. Hitler, some say, fits into this category. So ironic when Hitler makes the god of the Bible look like Little Bo Peep. 144,000 to help Jesus in the last days...to do WHAT is an even bigger question.

What Double Standards Exist With Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus into be a "good jehovah's witness" you must be able to live by double standards.
you have to know how to play both sides to the middle.
you have to speak and act one way with certain persons and another way with the others.. one example of how witnesses live by double standards:you cannot join the ymca because jws can't involve themselves with religious matters or else be shunned.

How about talking to my friend who one of the elders called a Satanist for believing in UFOs and who was instrumental in getting me out, but not talking to me because I decided to like the human race more than the god of the Bible? Exactly how many people would he have to talk out of the borg to be considered dangerous ?

It seems an internet blog is an excellent way to put in service time without the inconveniences that come with usual service...funny he is hesitating to answer you though. You have become a DO NOT CALL. What next!

WILL THE WATCHTOWER EVER DO THE RIGHT THING AND APOLOGIZE?
by nvrgnbk inwill this arrogant, presumptuous organization that has ruined so many lives, that loves to talk about humility and modesty, ever present a formal apology to all those who've suffered at their hands?.
would it really matter if they did?.

Love And Marriage Was The WatchtowerÂ’s Way An Advantage?
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; } .style2 { font-family: arial; font-size: 18px; color: #8668e0; } .style3 {font-family: arial; font-size: 18px; color: #3300cc; } --> love and marriage was the watchtowers way an advantage?the thought of one man and woman bonded through matrimony was always appealing.
the society used to stress chaperons, however, i think in todays day and age.
however, did the societys way prove helpful in certain respects?.

When I tried to break off the engagement I got "Let your yes mean yes, anything else is from Satan" or "Two are better than one" or 'if you were in Isreal and broke off an engagement, they would kill you. I tried desperately to get out of this engagement and nobody listened or helped me. I had to believe that one day 'Jehovah will bless me'...17 years later I got out of it. It was a life of no rewards. No time. No life. I once asked another elder's wife out in service if there were no consequences for divorce in the organization, what percentage would do it. Without hesitation, she said 50 percent. When I was in that horrible situation, the worst part was thinking that I was all alone. I got married 6 months after I got baptised. I think this is a tactic to keep you in and, if you have children, add to the numbers.

When I come here I stack 10 to 15, then open them all and lay them on the desk-top so when I am done with one, I shoot right to the next. Efficiency!

Do You Feel Like You Were "Screwed Over" By A Judicial Committee?
by minimus in.....or do you feel as though you "deserved" to be reproved or disfellowshipped?
?

In my case, the decision depended on how many people knew about it. "It" being a relationship, not sexual, with a worldly man. My elder husband had a relationship with a sister who was married, he says that it never got sexual, and he was deleted AKA "stepped down" but not reproved in any way. At that point the question was how many people knew about it...I was so disgusted, I asked if they were afraid of losing a good speaker...so when, two and a half years after we were divorced, I found a gem in the giant mud-hole of men that I was surrounded by, this same question came up. Because I had a lot of friends and had a big mouth, my Dfing was on the grounds of a principle. The principle of one flesh, and the fact that if everyone knew that I had a worldly man that I talked to on a regular basis it would "spread like gangrene" to the younger ones I knew. Word to the wise: Don't be polite and answer the door, the phone, or any certified mail that comes your way.
