according to the flock book updates - 2003 for page 133 an "unbeliever" is an unbaptised person.
it goes on further to state that should a dedicated, baptised christian choose to marry an "unbeliever", his/her parents (whether elder, ministerial servant or pioneer) should not give "tacit approval"to the marriage... moral support, financial support for wedding, reception etc.. .
who claim to have made a dedication but have not yet gotten baptizedAnyone can make an unsubstantiated claim! Do elders have mind reading powers to know if they're telling the truth?
Jehovah knows all hearts. He will reveal the fakes to the elders who will take appropriate action. In fact, he is so busy reading hearts of people wanting the use the KH for weddings that he doesn't have time to flush out the pedophiles. Oh well. He can only do so much....

I think a better term used to describe the mormons or JW's even is a 'Sect' because this word is used to describe a breakaway from a mainstream religion which is what the JW faith is. A cult on the other hand is more used to describe a group of people that isolates itself from normal society and often has one person as the leader.
I like to use the term high control group. Cult and sect, are loaded words in my opinion, which stop the thought process. I don't know how a JW could deny that their group is a high control group.

turns out that we are to distribute this silly invitation to our local 'helldom hall' to mag routes, rvs and any other 'mentally vulnerable' individuals in the local community.
i have never, in any cong that me an my family have ever been in had to do something so silly.
That doesn't even make sense. It's not like the meetings are normally closed to the public. I guess they figure someone may not want to come to a 2 hour meeting, but they may want to stop by and check the place out?
i went to the hall last night to get an insight book and a concordance.
i had set it up with an elder ahead of time to get them.
i arrived after the meeting had ended, walked up to the counter anxious to leave as quickly as i came when a big brother came up to me, planted his body in between me and the literature servant and started giving me the third degree about who i am, what is my standing in the congregation, and what did i want the books for.
