Panic can often result in over reaction causing more harm than good.
Remaining calm may be difficult for a mom when her child is hurt, but it's the best thing.
took my children to the park last night, as my daughter requested.
we walked to the park, overcome with this feeling of something bad was going to happen, but shrugged it off and proceeded to the destination.
we were there for only 20 minutes, as i was helping my 4 year old son, my daughter fell off the bars.

some topics generate hundreds of reads but few replies.
others, well ... i'm not one for scientific studies.
nor why one thing works and another will not, despite the time and effort put into it (whatever the thing/endeavor happens to be).. kindly inform me if you, in passing by and, having nothing better to do of a saturday eve, happen to see this post but have no intention of responding.. perhaps this is rocket science after all.. thank you for reading though finding no necessity to reply .... "they stayed away in droves.".
Ta daaa,,,,,,read and replied.
i hope i'm not asking a question that's been asked already but i'm wondering where people are planning to go after jwd closes down.
what are the 'better' options?
i also hope that this isn't a sensitive question or a taboo topic ... .
I'm going to the same place I was going before I found JWD.............CRAZY!!!!!!!!!
many people flee to the wbts because of all of the negativity in the world, perceived or real.
"the world is going to hell in a handbasket" is the general belief of most witnesses, especially those who are of middle to low income and have to deal with the unpleasantness of things a little bit more than the well-to-do witnesses who may have their paradise right now.
anyway, something spurred me to check statistics.
A trend, soon to end! Hey, that rhymes.
Sadly,,,,it's the truth!!!
Images like that do effect me.
I'm still cautious of any org that is soliciting donations or some type of support for anything because the government allows these solicitors to keep 75% of whatever they take in. So much of what we see may be all about putting money in the pockets of the wrong people.
Regarding the adoption of children from other countries, I think the best of the litter were already chosen by the more economically stable in their own country. There are children in this country who need adopting as well.
I do support the Red Cross. I totally trust this org to be there if you and I should need it.
i've been out for 20 years but only discovered jwd in the last few years (lurked for quite a while).
anyway, i find it quite humorous that we apostates are privy to actions, decisions, literature, news etc of the wb&ts before our jw friends and relatives.
when i told my "worldly" aunt with much glee that i downloaded the "shepherding the flock" book, she didn't get it.
By definition I am not an Apostate, and I feel really sad about that.
Seriously? Seriously!!!!
some cute dub female sent me email about value of human being.
i am not going to read it.
i do not want to gag anymore.
Probably something typical from the net with the name Jehovah added to it.
we had a few.. no gum in your mouth ever!
the elders found some gum on the carpet so gum chewing was banned.. disfellowshipped ones should sit quietly in the rear of the hall.. you had to get at least the congregation's average in order to share in the privilege of mowing the lawn!.
No playing, before or after a meeting, in or outside the KH.
One Thursday night there was a freezing rain and after the meeting I slipped on the concrete walkway. Not only did I fracture my skull, I got a whooping for running.
Never call anyone by their first name, it was always Brother or Sister so and so.
it was torn, stained, and coming unraveled, but my little brother drug the blanket everywhere he went.
he couldnt go to sleep without it.
he curled up in it when he watched cartoons.
My brother had a security blanket until he was six, quite a rag too. Oh the trauma. My mother threw it away his first week of first grade, that's when he started to studder and he still does till this day.
My personal blanket was made up of dreams. All but one has come true. The one left I cannot pursue because I feel I would be nothing without it.
DJK
for me, i think it's that they are 100% intolerant.
even if they are espousing an erroneous view and it is pointed out to them why they are incorrect, you would be "running ahead" if you still did not support the error until they state that a change in viewpoint has been made!
Hearing or reading anything from the bible.
Attending meetings.
