Misquoting Jesus-a must read
by dawg ini've read comments from those of you that still cling to the bible stating that there's no merit in the di vinci code's claim concerning the conference in nicea in 325. we all know that book is fiction but like all great fiction, there's some truth behind the story.
some of you have made statements that the nt was actually written by the apostles, which i refuted, and after asking for and not reciveing information from you believers any bible scholars anywhere that would go on record saying they believed the nt was in fact written by the apostles; i decided to researcht he subject on my own.
i could find no scholars that believed the apostles wrote the nt; as a matter of fact, they all said the apostles couldn't have written them.

Aninon, Ehrman sounds like the WT? I think you better read the book; he's far, far removed from the WT. The book was written by a greek scolar that wanted to be a minister, but the errors in translation made him exit.

An Elder coming for a visit!
by Mincan ini went back home for the transition period from april to september (and thus college).
they apparently told the freakin' p.o.
i wouldn't like a visit but obviously he has no intention of following someone's wishes.

This man seems like a sad man to me... he probably has nothimg in his life that gives him joy other then destroying the lives of others. You mentioned he's destroyed the faith of many famlies in the cong. Sounds like he's on our side he just doesn't know it. Tell him you refuse to meet with him without him making an appointment; tell him it's rude that he keeps showing up unnanounced-it is rude after all. Tell him to call and make an appointment; then never be available. Or better yet screen your calls and never call back. If the elders try and push you tell them your working and are in debt so your working almost all the time.

I can't understand why you guys attack the borg. 1st apostate 5:3 plainly says that no jeans and t-shirts should be worn after the assemblies. Theyr'e only doing what the bible tells them!

I understand what you're saying Gumby, but this is a post so I was trying to make it short and sweet. The crux of my argument is that no one can say how accurate the NT is and that none of the NT writings can be directly attributed to any of the Apostles; the cherry on top of that is how badly they were transcribed and changed. If you get a chance, read the book above mentioned.

I've read comments from those of you that still cling to the Bible stating that there's no merit in the Di Vinci Code's claim concerning the conference in Nicea in 325. For you believers, the offer still stands, show me where any scholar-i'm talking a person in a secular position at any University that will state on record that he/she believes the apostles actually wrote the NT. I've just finished 6 books on the subject, all of the writers were sceptical of the NT's orgins; everyone of them agreed that the apostles didn't write the NT; everyone of them said the NT was filled with errors.
In my mind, tHe best book by far was written by Bible scholar Bart D. Ehrman and is called "misquoting Jesus" his research shows the NT is filled with errors and was definatly used by the Catholic Church to further doctrines they already beleived before Nicea in 325. One early Bible scholar found over 30,000 errors from previous transcripts that conflicted with the NT message; he proved that transcribers changed the NT to their liking time and again. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone; the account in Luke which every Bible scholar now agrees shouldn't be in there becasue it wasn't on the earlier parchments is a prime example. Anyway, too much info to cover on a post; I'm still waiting for a believer to offer me a scholar that will state that they believe the NT is accurate and was written by the apostles.. Please check out this book if you already haven't; it was an amaizing read and also shows how error filled the NWT used by the WT is ands how error filled the NT is. HUff

What Stage Are You At Now?
by mtsgrad ini was born in the "truth" and reached the dizzy heights of becoming a servant and that attended the ministerial school.
in the last three years i emotionallly left the "truth" and stopped attending last year.
however, i am still very confused theologically.

Libery's right-sagan! I just finished a book called "misquoting jesus" actually written by a bible scolar of which the WT org has none on staff... as a matter of fact, the ignorance most witnesses have about the bible other than their ability to misquote it, is really amaizing. Check this book out dude, you'll love it,
