  Another Young One Takes a Stand FOR Higher Education

  a few weeks ago an elder from my old congregation stopped by (although a real company man, he is "a good cop" one) to invite me to the (anti)memorial.

  frankly i was surprised to see an edler at my home .

  have had some interesting confrontations with others on my porch .

  I got my degree when I was 38 years old... was given a scolarship, was single so what the hell? Best thing i ever did. I hope this girl follows up.

  i think i'll sleep late just in case... an elder called my friends house and said that armageddon was almost certain to come this year; an urban myth stated that it would be tomorrow.

  i guess i'll wait to make that car payment.

  ADVICE PLEASE. No lit for ex-JW - I have to put an ultimatum to my wife.

  if it is true that it has been announced that ex-jw`s are not to get the study watchtowers, then i must put an ultimatum to my wife.

  i look through the wt's at the moment to gauge any radical teachings that i may need to counter with my 2 kids.

  if my wife rewfuses to give me the 'secret' wt's then im afraid that it is the end of her taking them to the meetings.

  Opinions are like, well you know.... for what it's worth, here's mine... I wouldn't let my kids go to any church where secret things are being discussed-period! Especally given the recent swept under the rug molestation problems the WT has had! Hell no! Never. I honestly can't believe my ears sometimes, these people are going down my friend, and they know it. That's why the seculsion. There's no telling what lenths these fools are willing to go to keep families indoctrinated into this cult; what lies may they spread about unbelieving partners-they'res no telling... hell no! That's just my opinion.

  dear greg: just a note to thank you for the card and for remembering us on our anniversary.

  we had a very nice 45th anniversary.

  the only thing that would have made it better is if you and ***(my sister) could have celebrated with us .

  Update on my JC situation

  first of all i wanted to say that many of you have given some very good suggestions.

  there is about 5 different things i'm making a point to do now that i wasn't thinking of before.

  When they ask you if you think the Wt organization is god's spirit guided organization, don't freaking answer them... throw them a bible and ask them where it says you don't have the right to question the dictates of men.

  Run in with cousin over the letter I sent the family

  as many of you are aware, i've been writing letters to many in my family telling them where i disagree with the wt; imagine how surprised i was when my cousin invited me to his kid's graduation knowing that there were sure to be many witnesses there who i assumed whoud be in the mood for confrontation.

  of course i went, as i'm trying a new policy of not backing down from the witnesses; using reverse psycology to try and get them ashamed of being witnesses instead of them trying to make me feel bad about my disssent.

  after the graduation, my older cousin, who's much like a real brother to me said that we needed to talk.

  In the future, I will take precautions not to say that the year 1914 was derived using the pyramids... I will say that Russell backed up his 1914 claim by using the pyramids and that this is occult in orgin; which means the year 1914 still has occult ties in relation to Russell. Now, will you guys back the hell off me so I can feel happy about the fact that I've won such a great victory over the fools that run the WTBTS... so i made one slight gaff, who gives a sh*&, I don't claim devine guidance like they do in the first place... can't you guys make me feel happy that I kicked a little WT ass instead of focusing on one error for the love of God? Still, thanks for helping me to see the error and I'll make sure not to say that again...

  Read carefully what i wrote in my last post; the date 1914 is partally derived using the pyramid was what i stated... I stand by that as one of the ways in which Russell arrived at that year as having prophetic meanings. Remember, Russell and Miller changed the year Armageddon would come time and again; not just the year 1914. One of the posts says that the early bible students didn't know pyramidology and numerology was from the occult... how do you know what they had knowledge of, can you read their minds? You make that statement knowing Russell's ties to the masons? I'm not buying that and I doubt you have evidence to support that conclusion. From what I've read about that period, many who considered themselves christian dabbled in the occult. Face it folks, numerology and pyramidology is an occult pratice no matter how much you try and sugar coat it and Russell used it at a minimum to support 1914 as the year of armageddon would come. After reading gumby's quote I'm confused as to why you're attacking what I've said... I said it was one of the ways he arrived at that date... How can I be wrong? I said pyramidology and numerology is from the occult; how is that wrong?

  Irish Rose, I'm not trying to make MJ mad but he's wrong on the 1914 NOT coming from the occult. Pyramidology and numerolgy are from the occult and it's one of the way's Russell came up with the 1914 date. Look up pyramidology and numerology in the encylopedia, it says its from the occult. Go to the six screens of the watchtower website and he has the pages from studies in the scriptures where Russell came up with the 1914 datre using the great pyramid of gaza. This is an oocult pratice and it does nothing to make you lose creditabily when it's used; it does destroy the 1914 date.
