It came in today's mail
by Virgochik init came today, the dreaded envelope containing my personal copy of "return to jehovah" from my elderly, desperate mother.
it included a small note asking me to read it over and to let her know what i think.
she got it at her assembly.. firstly, i'm angry that she continues to push her religion on me, given that i stopped attending meetings over thirty years ago, and very offended that she assumes that i still want to be a witness, which is her choice of religion, not mine.

Every two years? Here in NYC they call you every six. That's why I saved the form they sent me the last time to make sure they don't call me before my six years are up.
BTW, I was told that by someone who works with dept that handles Jury Duty, so that's not just hearsay if anyone from NYC doesn't believe the six year rule.

Point blank, the Bible is against homosexuality. as the scriptures quoted in previous posts point out.
That's why I have a hard time figuring out what is in the mindset of those who are gay who have been ordained in the Methodist, Espocopalian and the other churches when the Bible clearly states its feeling on homosexuality. How do you take a vow to carry on the word of the Lord with those scriptures condemning homosexuality.

Paraplegic JW example used at assemblies
by Alfred init seems like every time our circuit failed to meet the field service goals set by our co, the very next circuit assembly would invariably include a talk that mentions a chronically ill paraplegic sister who would dial the phone with her tongue to make return visits or conduct bible studies... i must have heard this experience at least 6 or 7 times in the past 20 years or so.
and every time i heard this recycled talk, they would add even more guilt-inducing twists to it.
to me, it eventually became way to difficult to believe...

I remember a sister that attended the Circuit Assemblies on a gurney, flat on her back. All those that were sitting straight up had a hard enough time staying awake, she was on her back, wonder if she was able to listen to drivel and not fall asleep.
And of course my mother and others would make such vomit inducing comments as "isn't that wonderful, she doesn't let her illness stop her attending . "

We all know da troof is nothing but a real estate and publishing company that has a lot of money and constantly begs for more. What I don't understand is why the 7 old guys in Brooklyn don't have a villa on a secluded island or a penthouse apt in some prime real estate building on the Upper East Side or even out in the Hamptons. With all that money why are they living dormitory style and eating in a cafeteria for all of their lives? If I ran a company and was one of board of directors, why would I or anyone else live like someone who works in mail room would live? -
