The Trinity is a concept based on certain writings and pointers in scripture. Is it possible that God didn't really want us to know what he was doing specifically with our salvation process, so he didn't come right out and state it, but the writers kind of figured it out or rather had faith that God was all 3 working together for the salvation of his humans that keep messing up? Doesn't mean they would come right out and write it as well in depth. I find it difficult to see that some people don't think God had the power to do this, or that he would'nt do this. Surely he could come out and say, "Hey look at me, I'm God in the Flesh, Now I'll die for you so you can obey me and be free from the result of sin". People would'nt get it. There had to be a showing of sacrifice so that man could understand what was done for their salvation. God had to put into play something symbolic of this and it was a Son.
No matter when the "Trinity" was introduced into Christianity as a real thought, I feel man has uncovered who God is and was in scripture and we have acknowledged it by putting faith in Christ, the "Face of God".
God could also have just said, no one is saved unless you believe in me, and come to me only. But he did right, in the old testament, with a back up plan called the messiah.
That wasn't working though either right? He had to go and make a part of himself a fleshly man, in order to wake the stupid humans up, kind of like "Hello...McFly" with a knock on the forehead.
It's not hard for me to believe and have faith in it. I'm just glad I don't have to be under the mind control aspects of the WTS, and am free to put faith in the scripture on my own...."and the Word was God....Christ created ALL things.........There are no Gods before OR after me".

IsaacJS2, I like the scientific approach if you want to elaborate.
Like the science of how a single cell organism can eventually evolve into a creature that can create flying TONS of weight(planes). Funny how that single cell organism got us out into space too isn't it?
Single cell organisms have a way with color too don't they, glowing beautifully bright fish, birds and flowers with unbelievable colors the human eye can only appreciate. Think a Giraffe cares what color a "Sparkling Cherub" butterfly is? Don't think so.
Ever look inside a pocket watch? All the detail, that works so perfectly as to keep the time. I'd like to see a monkey try and make one. Yeah, us humans just got so lucky as to be able to "break out" of the dna chains, to become highly evolved and complex creatures...."by chance".
Good thing too, cause then I wouldn't be able to enjoy my cherry vanilla ice cream with hotfudge and nuts, that the single cell organism was able to create in todays world.
Creator??? You betcha! Science has it's place though.

As a witness, how would you have handled this scripture?
by NotaNess inphilippeans 1:15-18 (nwt).
if someone you were witnessing to at a door or on the street presented you with this scripture, and told you that paul supported even false intensions about christ, in fact he rejoiced in it.
in other words if witnesses have issues with "false religion" or some church leaders(on tv) out there acting like big supporters of the gospel, but they're really in it for the money, how would you handle that paerson saying that paul rejoiced in it?

Yes, Christ is Key.
Thanks for the post, and they DO miss the whole Love thing don't they, yet, they seem to be all about love?? (conditional love that is)
I read the scripture simply as it is. Some preaching the Gospel for their own gain, but not being true believers, and in some ways to make it worse on Paul's situation being Jailed. He states, that it doesn't bother him, in fact he rejoices, because either way, people are hearing the word, and Christianity is spreading from it as a fruit.

Been "worldly" for 4 months now
by themonster123 inwell, i left around january or february, and it's been about 3 months or so experiencing "worldly" living.
i gotta say...it's been an interesting and uncomfortable transition, to say the least.
i would just like to update everyone on how i'm doing, and share some of my worldly experiences, as well.

Truthsearcher....good post. Good direction.
To themonster123,
In my work environment, I'm surrounded by witnesses, and I feel like you do on the outside..."I'm surrounded by immorality" Can you believe that? It's true. You'd have to experience it to believe it, truly. They serve up a great heaping of Lies, Sexual Inuendo, False Witness, Character assasination, Criticizing, Cheating, and more.
Witnesses have a certain skill they've honed, and it's called "blanketing" as I call it. Whatever they see a "Worldly" person or group doing, then that's EVERYONE in this world who's not a JW. Being a former, I'm sure you and others here know EXACTLY what I'm saying.
A witness at works said to another.."If you socialize with the world, you'll become like the world", but how my stomache aches knowing the next day he planned with others about the time they were going to a local bar that night for karaoke and drinks!!!, and this is a regular thing. These people drink and go to bars WAY more than I do. I may go to a bar 1 or 2 times a year if that.
So, don't get caught up in thinking that your experiences are how it ALL is out here in the world. Don't forget, even as a witness, you were still AMONG the imorrality, "killers", adulterers, and the like. You ever been to a grocery store, post office, etc??? You think they weren't standing next to you at one time or another?
Hang out in Bars and places like that, and that's what you're gonna get. Clean it up, and get into a better "Worldly" environment. There's lots to choose from. Cheers!

If they were witnessing to me, I would then ask them.."So how do you feel about the Apostle Paul now"? "Is he someone you would support in this"?
15 True, some are preaching the Christ through envy and rivalry, but others also through goodwill. 16 The latter are publicizing the Christ out of love, for they know I am set here for the defense of the good news; 17 but the former do it out of contentiousness, not with a pure motive, for they are supposing to stir up tribulation [for me] in my [prison] bonds. 18 What then? [Nothing,] except that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is being publicized, and in this I rejoice.
