  i was adopted into a jw family in southern california.

  my birth mother gave me up after 6 months (the terms mom & dad refer to my adoptive/real parents).

  she gave me up due to the fact that she already had a three year old boy, and back in the late sixties it was not as socially acceptable to be a single mother.

  the persistent passage of time has forced the borg to literally redefine the word "generation" to suit their needs (it now means any group of people within a span of time that can go on indefinitely).

  i'm starting to get the impression that they are going to have to do something with the 8000 or so people who insist on partaking of the emblems every year, thereby identifying themselves as "anointed" and heaven bound.

  in recent years they have tried to discourage people from partaking by emphasizing that they could be crazy or diluted or puffed up with pride if they partook (don't ya just love my jw speak!?!?

  i feel the need to express how i feel and felt about my life as a gay man.

  i was brought up from birth as a jehovahs witness.

  this has played a major part in my life and it has been a real struggle to get past.

  in a congregation some years ago, the elders had a major issue to deal with.

  a transexxual woman became interested in studying the bible with the witnesses.

  she was invited to go to the meetings.

  Gleaning at Bethel

  want to see bethelites act like greedy scavengers?

  just check out the tail end of bethel family breakfast, lunch or dinners.

  for those not familar with this phenomenon, gleaning was when bethelites could basically bring their tupperware dishes down and store up on the leftover meals once the family was dismissed (usually by prayer, except for the bethel dinner).

  thought dating and marriage was tough in the year 2000...well just check out what david had to go through.. david wants to marry michal, sauls daughter.so whats he have to do?.

  samuel 18:25-28. at that saul said: "this is what you men will say to david, "the king has delight, not in marriage money, but in a hundred foreskins of the philistines".

  so david rose and struck down among the philistines two hundred men, and came bringing their foreskins and giving them in full number to the king to form a marriage alliance with the king.. lol
