i sent out wedding invitations last week.

apparently they caused my parents to get a divorce.

i got an e-mail from my mother saying that she left my dad, is filing for divorce, and that dad thinks she left because she wants to go to my wedding and he won't let her.

renee, I am sorry that you have to deal with this when you are planning for what is supposed to be the happiest day of your life.

What your gps did is mean-spirited and hateful! Christian? NOT! I can't stand self-rightous a**holes like that and I am sorry if they are your gps but they are awful people. I am tired of people making excuses for the poor brainwashed JWs. As human beings, they suck! It just is not right what they did, period!

If your parents are headed for divorce it has nothing to do with your wedding. Maybe a "good" excuse for them in thier eyes but most likely, not true. Nothing like a little guilt hand-off. There has to be more to it than that.

Keep your chin up and enjoy your special day.

Any hobby machinists or blacksmiths?

i was curious if there are any hobby blacksmiths or machinists on jwd?

for me it's a hobby and part time business and would like to find out if anyone enjoys it as much as i do.

I have taken two blacksmith classes and I really enjoyed both. There is a museum in my area that offers these classes in the fall and I will take it again this year. I made a set of fireplace tools (shovel, hook and poker), a variety of hooks and a hot plate.

I wish I were able to practice more but, I don't have the tools I need. So, I'll wait until September and go bang out some more stuff. I love it.

Daily Text from JH and Minimus

i lurk here more often than i post anymore but there is a commonality every time i log on.

the daily text.

at times these threads are the longest ones on the board until the next day when the topic is pulled from the daily text recycle bag or wherever it is they get them from, and prominently displayed on the active topics page in technicolor for viewers like you and me.

CHL- I am usually so irritated with the inaneness of the questions, but trying to remove all judgement I have to ask myself why that is. It's because I hated the daily text.

I enjoy the seemingly endless supply of minimus' "question" threads. If I don't have anything to contribute to the thread I don't. Most of the time I just enjoy reading what other posters contribute. Sometimes I don't read them at all. I don't think JH posts as many as minimus but one of his last threads was still alive, 3 or 4 days later. So, I think these threads are popular with many JWDers.

I am not sure how CHL makes the connection between these threads and the daily text of the Jws. Anyway, CHL if the questions bother you, don't read them. Simple as that.

Absolutely! All the crap you mentioned has been going on for years and was sort of a talking point in the last US Presidential election. Corruption is rampant and the FDA si no more than a fox guarding a hen house with the drug companies in thier pockets! It's about time now for Universal Health Care in the good ole USA. Until that happens how dare Washington restrict the free market. It gauls me.
