Hello y'all, Mr. Flipper here. Thanks for your comments. Keep 'em comin'. Free to Think- Jean skirts are cool. Should have made that elder give all his talks in jean skirts the rest of his life as punishment!!! minimus- Same here. I used to ignore elders personal opinions and just say thank you with a fake smile, then proceed to do what I wanted to do anyway. Co's - Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Open Mind- nice 2 door car!! What kind?? Hopelessly Stained- If this is the same tj. I'm thinking about, I hope he didn't blackmail you into keeping quiet about his alleged child molesting!! That's evil. Bastard. He'll pay in the end! Loosie- Gawd!! A 5 year old should always be able to talk to her 18 year old brother. Where's this elders grave? I'll help you dig him up and beat the hell out of him!!! Hortensia- So sorry you went through that!! It's also a test of faith that we had to put up with stupid elders who gave assinely awful advice! Peace to you all, Mr. Flipper. keep it comin'.

Hey everyone, thanks!! Keep it comin'! Hermano- I felt the same way. I'm not afraid of death. The witnesses aren't gonna kill me? Cool!!! Mysterious- All those interesting things we wanted to look into, but couldn't till we got out of the org. Yeah, I'm not scared of Tuesdays and Thursdays anymore either!! Hortensia- Yes. Worldly people really are less scary than witnesses. I find I'm more in tune with their ideas. It's enlightening. Warlock- Apostates are righteous!! Cool!! Changeling- Isn't it great to succeed and not have to give credit to the church?? Loosie- I agree. I also love worldly people, oral sex, apostates, & scary movies. No fear at all of that stuff. Just curious, what scared you of oral sex??? Thanks all, keep it coming, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

by drew sagan inas promised here is all of the info regarding what has been going on.
per the last jc with the elders i realized that all i had done was buy time.
they felt that we should be df'ed right on the spot, but because i made a plea to wait for a letter coming back from the wts they decided to hold on taking such action.

On the Way Out-- Good thread. Mr. Flipper here. I've tried fading for four years now and my dad 82 and a elder and mom 80 still talk with me and respect my decision to fade away, because of my doubts in that religion. I try to play it safe and stay on generic topics like the weather, their cats, our cats, ya know easy stuff. It seems to work with them. They are old and don't want to lose their youngest son's association. I have it easier than you because my wife is not a witness. And a fading 22 year old son who I get along with great. But my 2 daughters 20 and 19 won't have much or anything to do with me, and my older ex-bethelite elder brother (very self righteous) won't even allow me in his home. I tell you this so you can see it runs the gamut from shunning to some acceptance. I don't know how much of your family is in it, I was raised in it,so it's a challenge. But hang in there. Sounds like your fading good. Like someone else said, "Just be a good husband to your wife, be loving". She should respect that about you, even if you don't share her beliefs. Take care, Peace to you, Mr. Flipper

Mr. Flipper here again. When in the org. we were all told to fear Jehovah . Fear displeasing Him, or we will be destroyed at armageddon.Godly fear pounded into us like a whip. I remember my dad saying as an elder when I was young quoting Jesus,"Remember after you have done what is commanded, remember we are good for nothing slaves. What we have done is what we ought to have done". And I remember thinking, yeah, alright but can't I enjoy it while I do service or whatever? Does it have to be done out of fear as a slave would do? Out of fear of what will happen if I don't do it? Do you think most witnesses stay in that religion out of fear of repercussions if they don't? What a sad life!! Fortunately I've overcome my fears and don't believe in the big bad dream anymore! I'm not afraid of the big A because it's not real. I live life free of fear now. What is your opinion? Please share. Peace to all, Mr. Flipper

Hey everybody. When I was a witness one thing that drove me crazy was getting counsel from elders shooting personal opinions off their hip like it was from Jehovah God himself. How many times at assemblies, wt articles, etc. did we hear elders counseled to only ," give counsel from the Bible, not your personal opinions"? In fact ,that was one major reason I left the org. because of being given faulty counsel which didn't harmonize with the Bible. The elders wanted me to take back a ex-wife who was a druggie and dangerous to my kids. They said," Just visit your kids without your wife, it's a good thing your wife wants to be with you." I told them I wasn't going to put my teenagers at risk with that and that my wife should accept my children also. So because I didn't follow their counsel they put me on their black list and tried to follow me around to entrap me, after my ex and I broke up, trying to see if I'd start dating other women. Fortunately, she dated other men and I had my scriptural grounds, but the stalking and bad advice from them, they would not admit to later. What about you all? How have elders personal advice to you affected you? Since then 4 years ago, I don't take anything they say seriously as I've been faded for that long. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks, Peace, Mr. Flipper

What Is Your View Toward Religions & "Religious" People?
by minimus inmy take on religions in general is that they all either give hope or some type of contentment for the person who takes their religion seriously.
if they're good, they go to heaven or to some better condition.
some religions are more radical than others and these types, i stay away from.. regarding those that are very religious, i'm generalizing here, but i think most of them are extremists in one way or another.

Was raised by Catholics. At 8 or 9 yrs old I remember thinking the whole God and the Devil thing were like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny - a kind of punishment-reward- behavior control thing and that by a certain age they would tell you so. I knew basically nothing about the Watchtower until this past year, but I've seen over the years what a crutch various religions and cults are, worse yet how being pious to a church is a great justifier for bad behavior. I would rather do business or be in a lifeboat with a moral and ethical non religious person. I know that's a prejudice. I just have a lot more trust and respect for someone who does the right thing because it's the right thing, not for fear of punishment or for want of a reward (God's good will, heaven, live forever). mrs flipper

MeneMene- Way to go!! Even though your mom said,"It's a test to see who's faithful", at least she was informed and sees that you are concerned about what goes on. It might plant some seeds of doubt there, who knows? Peace, Mr. Flipper
