Emily, YOU have done nothing wrong - its not your fault your boyfriend lied and doesn't want you going to the same hall as him. There are alarm bells for you aren't there? He sounds mixed up and the more he sticks with the witnesses the worse he will get. Unless you get completely brainwashed too it will only get worse.

I think I did a really bad thing.

i'm not a witness.
he confessed to his elders that he had sex with someone outside of marriage after his second divorce was already final.

What do so called wprldly people think of Witnesses
by Axeman inthe wt would have us believe that worldly people admire and respect witnesses for their fine conduct.
not my experience when i left and sought candid expressions of what they really thought about the witnesses i found for the most part rather than admire them they think they are a little weird that there is something wrong with them.
those that do have a personal experience to relate tell of the negative effect the religion had on a family member that got involved with them.

yeah - i agree, most see them as a bit of a
nuicencenuisencenuisance (sp? lol i came in to edit it and still dont know how its spelt) on a sat/sun. hubbys thoughts(never a dub) - he doesn't like em cos they're a religion and he doesn't like any religion. all religions are basically the same in most peoples eyes i think. -

yadda - i know what u mean - spose it just depends if he was told to not call whether he'd listen. i wanted someone to call when my nan died, id stopped meetings about a year, maybe less but didn't hear a peep out of anyone, and i kinda just wanted to know someone was thinking of me, but most of the time i dont want them bothering me.

as you are quite young are there any advisory teams around who can help you get back on track? i know in the uk, every year after a-levels come out some radio stations advertise a freephone number for people who didnt get the grades they expected and to advise them on next steps, advisors in the local colleges/uni's who can help the "mature" student and the citizens advice bureau if you dont know where to start finding out stuff.
Not quite the same over there i know but maybe there are just as many helpful stuff if you know where to look?
Plus going to uni that little bit later is sometimes a good thing - you appreciate what you're learning and the opportunity you have. there are loads of mature students in the uk (ie going to college/uni at 19+) so im sure you'd find the same in the US.

by OUTLAW inwhen i lived farther up country..i had a car load of dub ladys come to the ranch..i told them they supported an organization that would kill everyone but jw`s.thats what i was taught when i was a kid..they said "no",that decision will be made at armageddon..??
?..i figuered "theocratic warefare stratagey"..they were lying to me!.....i talked to my mom a few years later and made the same comment..she said "no,that decision will be made at armageddon.??
?.this is the person that taught that doctrine to me.i just rolled my eyes.more "theocratic warefare stratagey".that woman woud lie in a heart beat for the wbt$.....yesterday the subject came up on a thread and hillary_step said the comment is true.....hillary and i have been friends for years,he totally blew me away..i could`nt believe what i was reading..he said the change had been made in the "90`s".....so now i have some questions for those who are more up to date on this subject than i..hillary_step,if your kick`n around please chime in.......#1:when did the wbt$ decied to quit preaching only the jw`s would get into the new system?..#2if you no longer need to be a jw to get into the new system,why bother?..#3:dieing at armageddon because your not a jw,was a gun to your head to join the jw`s.what do they use now?.....this isn`t the same religion i walked away from decades ago..this,the un scandel,the generation change,blood factions now acceptable..the wbt$ is morphing before our eyes and jw`s dont see it..lol!

I left in 2004ish. My understanding (and I never really studied hard) was that if a person knew the "troof" and turned their back on it then that was it. If they never knew the "troof" then they would get into the newsystem and get a chance to learn it then and make their mind up at the end of the 1000 years when god says "so are you going to do as I say or do you want to die?"
So religious leaders who tell their flock to not listen to the dubs die but the flock might not.
