So sorry to hear what you've been going through. Can't offer much advice, I don't have kids, just wanted to offer hugs.
my almost 17 year old daughter left to stay with her dad last thursday.
this is the second time she has left due to my strict rules, like 10p school day curfue, get to school on time, keep your grades above a c. she has not kept to my rules, so as a consequence i told her this last wednesday night she has lost driving priviledges of the car i gave her on her 16th birthday.
she said she was leaving to live with her dad.

i'm in love with a man who is a witness.
i am a pretty inactive protestant, meaning my parents were only able to drag me to church twice a year on christmas eve and easter morning.
he told me early into our relationship that he wanted to marry me and spend the rest of his life with me, and that he has never felt the love for anyone else like he does for me.
RUN!!!
my daughter goes to a church of england junior school.
until last year, there was virtually no 'pushing' of religion at the children.. however, the children are now required to pray three times a day: when they get to school, before dinner and before leaving school in the afternoon.. any child seen not putting their hands together, bowing their heads, repeating the words, and keeping their eyes closed is 'punished' by having to sit on the 'naughty chair' for five minutes.. on ash wednesday, the local vicar came and gave a service and made the mark of the cross on the foreheads of all of the children!.
i must admit i had not realised that the school had gone so wacky!.
That is odd - I agree that it is probably a backlash. It wouldn't be so bad if you had purposefully put your child in that school but an entirely different matter if its the one in your catchment area and not specifically for ones following that religion. You may have no choice about the school so you should have a choice how your child is treated.
Speak to the school about it. And another thought - maybe some other parents are unhappy too(apart from the one you already mentioned)? You can go as a group and put more weight behind your case.
wow.
wow.
i used to post here lifetimes ago, and i just recently came back and read some of my old posts.
Hello and welcome (back)
No I don't know you, I'm new. :)
i believe the moment's right to discuss a very serious matter............................................................beer.
what do you like?
let's edumicate one another!
I like IPA's and I like badger ales too. Also hobgoblin. and Guiness. I can drink lagers sometimes, but mostly in the summer. I had a hobgoblin beer mat which said "what you afraid of lager boy, you might taste something?"
i might have posted an intro in the wrong place so i will try again.
i have two kids, a girl and a boy, and am in college full time studying sociology (at least that is what i'm supposed to be doing instead of talking to you.
i prefer talking to you).
Hello and welcome white dove
is anyone familiar with the building commitee?
it appears that alot of hanky panky is going on here.
for instance, i know for a fact that some contractors have arrangements to be paid.
My father made a right fuss when we were saving up for a hall and demanded a conventional build or a refurb of a bought building because he said that qb's were expensive and shoddy. He stuck to his guns and in the end the cong ended up with a nice hall that the building committee didn't like and they did. Most of the work was done by the cong itself, they were lucky cos they had quite a few tradesmen and links to tradesmen. I think that some were paid or had expenses paid but not much. There was alot of falling out and ruffled feathers but mostly it was ok.
i dont often post on here but lurk everday.
i was an elder for 11 years, raised as a witness from birth and eventually left in 2002 aged 42.. my dad died on friday aged 87. he was a witness baptized in 1940. he was congregation servant and then elder in hull, england.. we were arranging his funeral tonight with my 2 brothers who are still witness elders.
all they were interested in was what he had done in the "truth".
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. Its nice that you had decided to wait until his death before outing your apostasy :)
Really it is up to you as to how close you are to your family and how disfellowshipping/being labeled as aposate will affect you and your family. If you can cope with it and your family can cope with it - go ahead!
i am so grateful to have a place where my experiences being treated like one of the walking dead can be understood and empathized with.. i was opening my mail last night and there was a bill from local hospital.
i opened it a bit confused because i have not been in a hospital in 2 years.
it was a detailed bill for my stepson.

Hope your son is ok and that you manage to send a message to him.
i have not tried to hide my past as a victim of this, but this is always an area that i have to fight my personally feelings as to what should be done to child molesters.
they ruin lives, scar an individual for a lifetime!.
should they be incarcerated for life, castrated, turned over to the family member(s), public humiliation like a branding everywhere they go, tortured and or death penality?.
I just don't know, sometimes I want to castrate my father, sometimes I want to kill him, sometimes I feel sorry for him (not often) because he was abused too. I cannot understand how, knowing the hurt they theyselves went through, why they would perpetuate that hurt. But I also love him because he's my father and feel hurt that I will never get that love back.
I never went to the authorities (was still jw when I finally got the courage to speak out - didn't want disrepute to come to the borg/jehovah) but I wish now, that when he had confessed to the elders, that I had gone right down to the police station. Now, I kinda think its too late and would just be revenge.
I'm not saying that the perps should walk free, not at all. I wouldn't want torture or the death sentence, but I also don't want to pay to keep em incarcerated, unless they work and pay for themselves. I'm just really confused about my thoughts on it all.
I think in the end I would go for somekind of mark/tatoo, tagging and supervision and if I decide prison for the rest of their life, make sure they work.
