by Bumble Bee ini posted way back in september that my dog had two bad cancers in her mouth.
we took her into the ontario vet college for available treatment options.

BB, I'm sorry about your poor dog. How horrible. What is his prognosis? Will the radiation in the right spot fix it for good?

The wierdest thing happend to me at work today!!!!!
by changeling ini was at the front desk (can't tell you what i do, as i'm a fader).
i get a call from a company that works closely with us.
the lady says: "i have a client here that needs an_____, but he wants a jehovah's witness.".
-
Tara
Changeling,
you're better off without them. Maybe I'm paranoid, but could it have been a ruse to see if you'd say something incriminating about them or yourself?

Do You "Trust" The Police?
by minimus inif the police say such and such a thing, do you tend to automatically believe it?

Woops...hit enter before I wrote my message.
I got as far as jaguarbass's reply and stopped reading.
My dad was a cop and a damned good one. Everything he told us not to do, he did not do. He was not a hypocrite.
Cops have a horrible job and, unfortunately, lots of times their families pay the price. It is not easy being a cops kid or wife.
Sure there are bad apples, but that is true of any profession. At my dad's funeral, the DA came up to me and said if you
looked in the dictionary under integrity, a picture of my dad should be there.
There was an incident of police brutality in my dad's dept that was witnessed by several cops. Only my dad told the truth at trial and it cost the Lt his job.
So yes, I trust and believe cops. I admit I am predujudiced and biased towards them, But I also conduct myself in such a way as to not have to worry about it.
The people who say ALL cops are bad, etc. are ignorant.

by Awakened07 ini only recently joined facebook (yes, a little late to the party).
and today i found one person there that i still consider somewhat of a friend, that i know is disfellowshipped.
this person turns out to be a 'hub', in that this person has a lot of facebook 'friends'.

WOW! I hope they are all out and that you'll be able to reconnect with all of them. That would be fantastic.

WILL YOU kindly help me?
by Terry ini've finished writing my novel (50 thousand words) about my years spent in federal correctional prison when i was an obedient little jw.. the editing and rewriting stage now commences.. i need your help!.
here is how you can help me.. i can't know what an outside mind wants to find out concerning this experience.
i can only conjure up what seems interesting to me.. tell me what you want to know about such a personal experience.. that will give me a checklist to compare to what i've written already.. i may have missed many little details which are very important to a reader.. i may have neglected essential questions which must be answered in order to satisfy the mind.. please offer me your curiousity.. thanking you in advance; i appreciate your taking the time to advance my novel to the finish line.. (i wrote it as a fictional work because i could not honestly write about myself without the distance of this device.. so, i made myself into a character with a different name.. the identity of everyone else is non-fiction.

My questions have already been raised by previos posters. I agree that writing it as your personal, true story would be more effective than as fiction, but I certainly understand why you can't do so. Perhaps you could address that in a foreward to the story so the reader knows. I also agree with whoever suggested seeing a lawyer in regards to using real names. CYA!
I look forward to reading your finished book as well, and I would also like to volunteer to read the unfinished work and offer comments.
My boyfriend is an author so I know what goes into getting a book published. Good luck.

Dumped On.
by RollerDave intis the season, so to speak.. this is the time of year the darkness descends like a proclamation of doom, and the light retreats like a rank and filer encountering an actual, thinking, reasoning person during the failed misery.. i don't exactly operate at a hundred percent in the dark and cold, ironic considering where i live.. so one day, we have a relatively clear parking pad, and the next we get a ton of white shit dumped on us.. such lovely fun, shoveling all the global warming from the drive.. got to take the truck out and let it strut it's stuff, that bad ol' aposta-truck was in it's element and unstoppable.
like the unfailing assault of reason on the last tendrils of mind control left in my wetware.. see, i've been thinking again, in spite of all the trouble it's gotten me in before it's a hard habit to break.
i drive around and everybody is getting their christmas on, and i have always felt so smug that i 'knew better'.. see, here is the witless take; you gotta get all vestiges of pagan influence out of your life, no saturnalia, no lupercalia, no all hallows eve, no 'bless you' to a sneeze, no 'pot lucks', bleh blah yadda.. yet, every day of the week and month of the year is named for a pagan deity, the planets are too.

Hi, RD. I get depressed in the winter, too, and also have a sun lamp. It helps me a lot.
Have you been to the doctor? Maybe you need an anti-depressant just to get you thru the winter.
Or if you're already on one maybe the dose needs to be increased just for the winter. Hope you feel better soon.
