  they knocked on the door at 7 p.m wearing their badges.

  i didn't realize that they ever sent women out.

  actually we had a few sessions with a couple of mormon elders over a year ago.

  That's interesting! I guess the Mormon church is progressive when it comes to women. I always thought only the young men went out preaching, too.

  it is about 30 degrees c outside (and it is 9:39 in the evening here), i am headachy, sweaty and just feeling generally crap.

  my husband is busy killing gemans in his ps2 game and i am bored.... just thought i would share....

  I don't remember the math for figuring out Celsius to Fahrenheit. 0C is freezing (32F) and 100C is boiling (212F) is all I remember. It's 27F outside here.

  we found this quiz after reading the book parenting beyond belief and sweetpea and i decided to take the challenge - afterall how difficult can 50 bible questions be for us born and brought up as jw's?.

  our results were enlightening to say the least - we both scored 28/50 - not exactly brilliant although apparently above average.. take the quiz and post your results and comments..

  How many JW women would have stayed with their abusive husbands over the years because of stupid comments like this. And in the meantime also subjecting their kids to an unhealthy environment.

  I was married 18 years to a physically, verbally, emotionally, and sexually abusive husband. The last 10 as a JW. He became even more abusive when I joined. I was SPECIFALLY told NOT to leave him, NOT to call the police (as it would bring reproach upon Jehovah), act like the "fine" wife in Proverbs, win him over without a word, etc. In 1995 I separated from my husband. In 1996 I DAd myself from the "loving congregation" full of the "happiest people on earth".

  It's my 1st JWD birthday

  it's my first jwd birthday today and i just wanted to say a hug thank you to everyone on this board.. i am so glad i joined here, looking back over the last year i know i've come a long way.

  i started out here knowing it wasnt the truth but not sure where to go or what to do.

  throughout this year i've learnt so much about myself and feel i am finally being the person i want to be.

  ten pounds in ten weeks

  so it's january 1 and i want to lose ten pounds in ten weeks.

  i've been on a diet for a year and a half and have lost 130 pounds.

  weight loss has slowed down, so i need more focus and more exercise.

  anyone who has ever sat at home, healthy, well fed, surrounded by loved ones, and suffering from intense anxiety will readily agree that peace of mind is the necessary condition for happiness.

  but how can we possibly learn to have peace of mind when the mind is by nature restless, projecting its wants and fears endlessly into the past and the future?.

  The only time my mind is quiet and peaceful is when I am knitting. I find it very soothing and therapeutic.
