  the shanghaiist ( media outlet in shanghai owned by the new york based gothamist) published some of the 3000 images taken by a beijing born photographer, lee jian, lee grew up in a muslim family and in 2013 set out to photograph muslim communities across china, covering mosques in henan, hebei, ningxia, jilin, liaoning, shanxi and hebei.. members of a family sit together in the niujie mosque in beijing on the first day of ramadan.. .

  a little girl reads the koran in chaoyang mosque, beijing.. .

  a gathering at east xiguan mosque.. .

  That`s very interesting fts ,it would seem that China is free of radical Islamic extremism would that be correct ?

  If so , maybe it`s because they have not played a part in the Middle east conflicts.

  this is a video on jw broadcasting to quit your full time career, sell your house and belongings and start a window washing career.

  i agree with some of what is presented but not all.

  it is good to live within your means as presented in this video.

  When was the last day a GB member did a hard days work , Come to think of it when was the first day a GB member did a hard days work .

  Oh that`s right they don`t have to work themselves , all they have to do is delegate work out to the R&F & the volunteer members .

  Look at where they live ? First class accomodation , travel all over the world ,tailor made suits ,Jewellery , rings ,,watches ,the best of food , and least but not all , treated like God`s gift to the organization by the R&F.

  And they live a simple life ?

  so some may have read the long and boring post about our last vacation and some of the things that my wife came to tell me during our time away.

  Your wife may very well feel their is some good in what the JW`s believe and teach , but isn`t that true with any religion ? Catholic , Protestant ,Jewish ? even non Christian religions ?

  I remember back in the seventies think , a Q&A maybe in a KM ,about how Japanese people seemed to have better qualities of interacting with people than many JW`s.

  Just because you can find some good in a religion does not equate to them having the truth

  You can find good people in all religions as well as bad people and that is true also of JW`s also.

  Stem cells - Watchtower position

  does anyone know the wt's position on medical treatment using stem cells?

  i don't even know how to go about finding out this information.

  if anyone could tell me where to look or what the current position is by the society, i am most appreciative.. i would like to recommend the treatment to a jw relative, but don't want to get involved in an argument if it is forbidden.

  How can anyone take Jehovah`s Witnesses seriously on any given medical treatment/procedure whether it`s a conscience matter or not .

  They are dead set against Blood Transfusions , against a JW donating blood even for their own use .at a later date.

  Their stated scripture belief is "that it should be poured out on the ground" not to be used for any purpose .

  In the 1960` to ? , you would be DF if you persisted in using Blood and Bone fertilizer ( and isn`t that blood poured out on the ground ) ? So what was the problem their ?

  The inconsistency arises where they allow a Jw to use Fractions of Blood as a conscience matter .?

  Where do they think Blood fractions come from ? It is Blood donated by worldly people , ( mainly Apostate Christendom people) used in a blood bank laboratory and processed into it`s various fractions ( It is not poured out on the ground , and it IS used for a purpose )

  How can that be a conscience matter ?

  So why take any notice of what the GB says about Medical procedures ?

  Stem Cell , Organ transplants , Blood Fractions or anything else ?

  Sorry Dagney , I appreciate you wanting to help a relative , and if you find a loophole in the Societys doctrines good for you .

  i just posted the prologue to my novella "armageddon's slaves" on my blog.

  chapters will follow at one or two day intervals.

  the whole thing is about thirty chapters, so it should be up in about a month.. i need feedback, so let me know what you think.

  i was skimming the july 2016 wt study article and came across a paragraph indicating that, despite scriptural evidence, the governing body indeed feels that god's son now knows the exact day and hour of armageddon.

  is this 'new light'?

  i have been a baptized witness for about 30 years.

  from the time i was a kid.

  i've been the only one in my family who is baptized until 15 years later when my mother got baptized.

  How can I say this without hurting your feelings ,Elders are Nobody`s

  Think about it : are Mormon Elders due our respect or obedience to them ?

  Elders in the JW religion are only given the power and respect by existing JW`s in the religion ,.

  They have no respect ,no authority , no say , outside of the JW religion .

  The only authority they have is the one that Jehovah`s Witnesses give them over there own lives .

  Now . why would you do that , give that power to a few men you don`t even know over your own life , a power that can even mean life or death to you if you follow them.

  And remember they have changed their position/doctrine on scriptures many times with the excuse of New Light , in other words the old light was false/wrong ., obviously not from GOD

  It sounds like opportunistic JW`s who see an avenue to exploit their position in the religion to cash in on an opportunity as apparently others have done in the past.

  I wonder if the GB comes down on them about copyright or something with this one , or if they get a commission for each sale .
