what i have is real life experience of having been an elder that was involved in investigating an allegation of child abuse, why we didn't report, why we didn't encourage the parents to report.. its simple really, the main reason elders don't report is concern that they may lose their position in the congregation.
if you in any way "run ahead" of the society, you will be perceived as proud and arrogant and will be deleted!

Consider this: people demand cars. Poor people don't make them. Who makes the cars that people demand? Well....it's people who have the money to make them, that's who.
It tales money to make cars. A LOT of money. Who has the money to make them? Who has the money to buy the real estate, build the factories, hire the engineers, and the folks who build them and the sales force and distributors to sell them? Who has the money to pay for all the advertising to market them, the clout with the banks to finance them and the service departments to fix and maintain them. Poor people? NO.

I have personally met, supped with or at least spoken to many, if not most of the high profile people in the ex-dub community.
These include Alan Feuerbacher, Barbara Grizutti Harrison, Randy Watters, Nathan Natas, Kent Steinhaug, Norman Hovland, Jan Haugland, Raymond Franz, Barb Anderson, Bill Bowen, Athanasius, Marvin Shilmer, Craig Mills, "Flipper", Aguest, Englishman, Uncle Bruce, Tom Tally, Ed Gruss, JT, Not Perfect Yet, Celia, Amazing (Jim Whitney), David Swingle and a bunch of other folks I can't recall at the moment. Some of these people obviously don't post any more, and Ray Franz, Craig Mills and Barbara Grizutti Harrison have passed away.
Each and every one of them was delightful.
That being said, there is not a single person from this board I believe I would not enjoy speaking with, meeting in person or supping with. Everyone has something of value to offer. As do all of you.
