Maggie Gyllenhaal. She's cute, a great actress, and has a personality and sensuality most hollywood actresses lack.

YES! I never commented at the watchtower study or kingdom ministry. I refused to join the ministry school too. Much to shy...

need serious advice
by coffee_black ini don't know where to start.
i'm on vacation, staying with my daughter for the next few days...and then we're going (my daughter & her 3 kids) to my son's wedding reception some distance from here.. she has been trying to finalize her divorce and custody of the kids for about 6 years now.
they have been separated for that long.

I agree that they need to get out of there. ASAP. Contact a women shelter about the questions you have about taking the kids out of state. They should at least be able to direct you to someone that knows the answer.

Kirk Cameron should have stuck to mediocre sitcoms
by under_believer inhe's currently tamed up with this guy called ray comfort and together they run a "ministry" where they make banal observations and say that it proves god exists.
check this one out:.

A "well made banana"? Is there such a thing as a poorly made banana? I could not believe the "for ease of entry" comment...that just begs to be mocked!

That sounds amazing! Last year my sister and I drove from Florida to California, and took Route 66 part of the way. No other traveling really compares to wandering the open road in my opinion. Have fun, and be safe!

Oooh Undercover, The Cult is one of my favorite bands from the 80s!
Ironic that cult members were upset about someone seeing a band called The Cult, huh?
You know what I find ironic? That on one of The Cult's album covers, there is a drawing of the winged sun disk! Ha!
Other favorite 80s music:
The Cure, Siouxie and the Banshees, The Sugarcubes, Icicle Works, New Order, Sisters of Mercy, R.E.M (Murmer is my absolute favorite album of all time), Tears for Fears, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemiens, The Fine Young Cannibals, Inxs, The Bangles, so much more that I can't think of right now!

What told you that no holy spirit was moving the BOE?
by Crumpet ini've read on and off here of various things that told people that god's spirit was not directing the organisation.. personally for me on the last time i got dfed it was the fact that i got reinstated by a meeting of the boe at the exact same moment i was smoking my first cigarettes in 7 months.
i didnt question it exactly but it did seem odd.
i mean i had no idea that they were discussing my reinstatement at that moment that i succumbed and had decided in my favour.

Well lots of things...
For years I was counseled to stay with my abusive husband. When I told them all the crap he had done ( tried to kill my cat, tried to run over a group of teenagers, backed me into a wall and screamed in my face that I was worthless and nothing, squandered our money to the point of us ending up homeless, destroying my property, among many other things) I was told that wasn't abusive...that he was just trying to intimidate me!
The fact that when we ended up homeless NO ONE in the congregation came to our aid. No one would even pick us up to go to meeting. I was 2,000 miles away from my family, had no friends in the area, just the congregation. And they refused to do anything to help.
During one of my seperations from my ex husband, I was told by an elder to "be a big girl and go back to my husband".
In my first JC I should have been disfellowshipped, I didn't tell them everything.
During the second JC, I told them I was pregnant. They told me NOT to marry the father, that he was an unbeliever. This blew my mind. Deny the child's father his god given right as a parent because he wasn't the same religion? I was furious. Then I was told to "calm down" when I expressed my opinion while upset. I was also asked "was your need for a man that bad?" ! The whole thing was a nightmare, and crazy.
And on, and on... I could write a novel!

Anyone here have experience in Native American culture/worship?
by Angry_Kangaroo insince leaving behind jw beliefs, i have been interested in learning other belief systems.
i am really interested in native american beliefs as i have native blood in my background, and i feel more at peace and closer to god when i am in nature.
from what i have read, it is not a set religion with rules and such, but more a cultural/community based faith.

Thank you for the replies. Good point Flowerpetal and reneef; someday I would love to travel out west to find my family's tribe. I knew beliefs and practices varied from tribe to tribe, but I did not realize it could be so vastly different (ah ignorance). Like I stated I am more interested in learning the culture...I'm not out to be converted. I consider myself Agnostic, I don't really think any one belief is the "right one".

Its stuff like this that always made me feel guilty. I could never do enough, or be who they wanted me to be...which made me feel worthless.
