  Wow, your heart sank not because she passed, but because of how the congregation and the beliefs would be ridiculed. Hmm, and we have the problem? You are more concerned with how it will "look" than the fact that this young woman has died, leaving behind two young children, needlessly.

  I noticed that comment in faundy's post too, sweetstuff. What a horrible, disturbing attitude to have! It is a shame that so many jw's have such a cold hearted view of things. Truly twisted. And they say WE are the ones that are negative!?

  I feel so bad for those poor twin babies. And their young, pretty mom; what a waste of precious life!

  My hubby prefers brunettes. He is blonde, and so are the women in his family, so for him dark hair is more appealing. My dad on the other hand likes blondes. I never understood why he went for my mom who is native american/mexican, when he always raved about how beautiful blondes are. Well, I got the dark hair and pale olive skin from my mom, and my blue eyes from my dad's side. So I appeal to a lot of guys I guess. Gee, I sound conceited huh?

  I personally find all hair types attractive. Tori Amos(redhead), Scarlett Johanssen(blonde), Liv Tyler(brunette), Gabrielle Union(black), and Ziyi Zhang(asian) are all gorgeous women in my mind.

  they are the shoes that everyone loves to hate.

  they are also the shoes that have fans that will disregard what others in this world say about them in regards to fashion and taste.

  if you wear and love them, you just don't care, your feet are happy and that's all that matters.

  History leading up to my "happiness" thread

  about 3 years ago, amanda and i met up with an xjw elder here in knoxville.

  it started out ok, but deteriorated rapidly.

  Again my apologies if I offended you. I was in no way referring to you when I said ditto to Changling's post. Nor was my apology and advice hollow. I was speaking from experience. I will clarify that I am not seeking revenge on anyone. I see how living a good life gives a better testament to current JWs about leaving the org. then being bitter. My statements did not mean to fake happiness, nor did I imply that I am living a perfect utopian life and am happy 24/7. My life is better now then when I was a JW and my family sees that. They see that not all "worldly" men are the devil. My JW mom said that she was relieved that I am happy and living a good life; she told my stauch JW grandmother this before she passed away. It gave her peace of mind. As I have stated, I speak from experience.

  I think it is rather unfair of you to judge my advice without even knowing me, then turn around and say you give others the benefit of the doubt if you have not met them. "Remove thy rafter from thine (or thy? Geez I am tired!) own eye..."

  FlyHighNow: Sorry about your first day at work. First day on the job is always nerve racking. Too bad I start temping on Monday; first day all the time!

  Why I dont go along with the "happiness" crowd

  the old saying "happiness is the best revenge", to me that is the most rubbing statement i can ever hear right now.. .

  someone mentioned that jw's dont think anyone can have true happiness outside of their religion, i dont necessarily buy this.. .

  when someone is happy inside the borg, they say its jehovah's blessing, when someone is happy outside the borg they say that satan is blessing them.

  JG, I am sorry if my reply in the last thread rubbed you the wrong way. That was not my intent.

  Why do I believe that happiness is the best revenge? I was always told growing up that those who leave the org. end up on drugs, etc. I heard it at the meetings. I heard it at the assemblies. I heard it at home. How much study was devoted to how bible principles make life happy? (the WT version of bible principles)

  I see how irked my aunt is that I am happily remarried. She can't find a husband in the truth. I know it bothers her that she is single with no prospect of remarrying and I went out and got a "worldly" husband. And *gasp!* he is a great guy. Not the drug taking, wife beating, cheating man that "worldly" men are painted as. My family sees that since leaving the org. that I have finished school, conquered several phobias, and made friends(something hard for someone as shy as me). I believe it because it worked for me. Everyone is different though.

  What works for one doesn't always work for another.

  Radical Apostasy v Liberal Apostasy

  in the wake of the 'dannygate' issue it made me think about the impact of apostasy and it various forms and on some level how it equates to the feminist movement and its development over the years.. initially, the radical feminist movement were and are the typical man hating, bra burning cross section who undoubtedly moved womens rights foward significantly and to some degree still do.

  without the radical feminist movement, the likelihood of the liberal and more balanced feminist movements ever existing would have been uncertain if not improbable.

  so indirectly the feminist movement owes a lot to those radicals who were out there burning bra's and linching men (i was joking about the last bit).
