Are you a spiritual? - What is the definition?

as a jw, the definition of spirituality is very limited and narrow minded.

but i have realized that i'm a spiritual person even as an agnostic.

watchtower's use of the word is completely wrong, and only used to benefit their own agenda.

Anything that is truly "spiritual" the Watchtower considers "occult" or "sorcery". Once again we can thank the Bible writers for that deception.

Babyruth made an important point. The key is love, but unconditional love. Making judgments and acting like a Pharisee is the opposite of love. If you are love, you don't worry about bad influences, they have no effect on you and cannot hurt you. So there is no need to judge, you only show love by example. Show them the way by your words and deeds. That's what's wrong with JW's in a nutshell.

robert king, the jehovah's witness podcaster and webmaster going by the title the watchman (or e-watchman), answered an atheist's email duing one of his podcasts.

in it, he tackles subjects which apparently turned the emailer from a jehovah's witness himself into an atheist.

thes subjects include slavery in the bible, a few odd commandments found in leviticus, and the story of elisha and the bears.

Ever read this guy's essays? He's no dummy. It's unbelievable that he can't see the forest for the trees.

This is the information age. The days of pretzel logic and dancing around Jehovah's atrocities are over. The vicious god of the OT stands convicted by his own words and deeds.

Jehovah doesn't change, he just fades into irrelevance, like this guy and his diatribes.

But hey, he's exposing the Watchtower, so he does serve somewhat of a useful purpose. Hopefully whoever he draws out of the cult won't get sucked into his. It doesn't look like many are.

when read in context karl marx was not directly attacking religion when he wrote those famous words.. .

Marx had an idea about human potential and recognized the anesthetizing effect of orthodox religion.

According to Albert Pike in his letter to Mazzini, Communism was planned decades in advance and Marx just happened to be a major tool that was used toward that end.

It's very interesting that after being raised a Christian from the age of six, after attending the Universities of Bonn and Berlin, Marx wrote that he wanted to avenge himself "against the One who rules above". Isn't that interesting.... purely a gnostic viewpoint, that the God of this world is not so benevolent. I've reached the same conclusion. Unfortunately for Marx, he responded by turning to Satanism.

I guess someone has to play the extreme negative role in the process of our evolution.

The good news is, I think Communism has now been eliminated as an option for the future.

what's got me a bit befuddled is this.... when eve was created she was physically perfect right?

and apparently god blessed them which counted as a marriage.

so....that means that satan's deception of eve must have been almost immediate?....because being perfect she would have conceived virtually straight away, surely?

Once again, most of the blame falls squarely on those who wrote and/or compiled the Bible. Without it, none of this would be possible.

Were you afraid of Armageddon?

i was dfd in 1995 however i still believed it was the truth until 2009. and until then i was fearful of armageddon's day.. i remember every time i'd see a dark sky with thunders and lighting i would question if that was it.

the news of any major disaster, hurricanes earthquakes would ignite fear inside me and i would think that could be the beginning of the end.. when i was around 8 i remember going to visit my grandma and she was watching the news.

a major conflict in the middle east had ended and some president said that the world was not in peace.

CJ, you've come a very long way in a very short amount of time if you still believed this was the truth in 2009. Like you, I was df'd in 1995 and still believed it until 2006. Yes I was very afraid, but also angry, because I hated Jehovah and had no problem telling him that he could keep his Pharisee new system if it meant an eternity of the Watchtower. I let him know point blank that I'd rather take my chances with Gehenna. At least there would be other people there who liked to have fun and wouldn't look at me like a bug under a microscope..

has the watchtower ever rationalized their obsession with depilation or claimed there was a biblical basis for banning beards, or is it simply because jehovah's corporation/faithful and discrete slave says so?.

Jesus is pictured in all the WT publications with a beard. They hate Jesus, therefore, no beards. Wouldn't want to look like a follower of Jesus, now would we?

i was thinking to myself today,people suck humans suck.i know that when i was younger i used to see myself helpng people.but now i could care less.the reason is because in reality things will never get better.i am not saying god is going to help us.i do not believe in god.i feel that no mattr what charity you give to an organization in the end it is all futile and pointless.this life we live is hard and can seem pointless.does anybody else feel that way..
