Wow, I'd love to lose weight so I'd feel better about myself. I think that no matter what age we are, we never stop thinking about how we look. Sign me up for 10 lbs! Thank god summer is here and I love veggies from the garden. That should help, and maybe I can even convince myself that I can do without some of the junk I crave. Great idea, Unconfused. j.w.d.

Your View On BREASTFEEDING In Public
by minimus inlast night on the news a woman was told by a store manager that she could not in public breastfeed her child.
she and her husband were quite offended and complained to the company's main offices.
they are now looking into this situation.. what's your opinion?

I think if you can do it discreetly, so that others aren't made uncomfortable, it's fine. Don't make a big production out of it and let that boob hang right out. And it sure can make that baby quiet and content. The only bad part is when the baby is happily feeding away, and everything's cool, but suddenly there's a loud noise, the baby is startled and pulls away from the breast to look around, and wham, you're exposed to the world and there just might still be milk spraying out! You just gotta laugh.

Do You Still Act Like A Jehovah's Witness?
by prophecor ini'm not very far removed, any longer from how i presented myself as a witness, and how i do today.
i'm usually polite, cordial, respectful of others, even those who i may have very little regard for or those who on a regular basis, piss me off.
i work very hard not to use foul language.

Kinda. I haven't taken up smoking and loose living, but I do like the occasional swear word. Well, maybe more than occasional.
It's fun!

when a birthday is a birthday
by winnie inmy sister had a baby recently and on the day she was born they whole jw community come to the hospital gave presents cards balloons flowers all on her real birthday i pointed this out to them they were celebrating the childs birthday and as usual they pointed the finger at me and my warped thinking my mother went so far as to say that i needed professional help.
so is the day a child is born a birthday and as such should jws celebrate it.

I loved the Eccl. quote.....if you said that to them, right there at the hospital, that would really freak them out.
I never thought about all those presents a new mother gets, ON THE DAY OF THE BIRTH (otherwise known as a 'birthday' to everyone else in the REAL world).
You are not crazy. They are.

Hey, it feels great, doesn't it? I'm older than I care to admit, but never donated until last year, due to all those crazy religious beliefs! Now I do and love it.
I'll have to work on getting a tatoo next.

How much have you changed since you left the JWs..........
by fifi40 inthe reason that i ask this question is for two reasons mainly.. firstly, my experience as a jw and within the various congregations i was part of, was that they were a very mixed bag.
there were those who were very devout, studious and appeared to be very humble and placid in nature.
there were those that were very judgemental of others.

I have more fun, but since I grew up as a JW, some things will never happen. I'll never sleep around, take drugs, smoke, but I do enjoy swearing! I love having a more normal relationship with the people I work with and it's funny to talk about what I used to believe (they never knew the half of it!) .
