as i am not interested in downloading audio files that will permanently be on my computer, i would like to see a pdf file scan of the whole magazine in its entirity.
notice that the study articles are available as mp3 files, which does little good if one wants to look at it at their own pace and tear the material apart.. notice the theme: doing good.

I missed it, now it doesn't seem to work!
Oh why did I have to go away for that romantic Vday trip with my Beck, all that nookie, the bonding, the relaxing in the jacuzzi and pool...
And I missed my Kooladetower!
Well, it was definitely worth it!
But I'd still appreciate another shot at that file if you please.
THANKS!

i'm not a big fan of huge ^c^v (cut and paste) posts but here goes..... i found this when i googled 'jehovahs witness landmark forum' - thats another post why i was doing that... http://www.ex-cult.org/general/identifying-a-cult takes about 3 minutes to read.... my question is 'could a jw read this and not even think 'is that us?''.
identifying a cult
there has been much confusion about cults and how to 'pickem'.
Whew!
Had me going there for a few minutes, I almost thought I had been raised in a CULT!
Perish the THOUGHT!
Thank you Brother Stilla for that refreshing spiritual food, it sure brought some much-needed perspective to this thread.
Now where can I find some Spiritual Rolaids?
(oh yeah, at the TOP of the thread! Silly me!)

it seems that there are a lot of witlesses that opt to home school their children.
i had a family in my former congregation that did that, because the kids did not want to be around worldly people (sounds familiar?).
it also seems that they are speeding things up, so the children can get out there and pioneer that much sooner.
I homeschooled my daughter from the third grade up for many of the reasons you list.
I always got heck from people using the old canard 'socialization' and I would shut them down straightaway by saying "If I wanted my daughter to be a socialist, I'd let THEM socialize her!"
But seriously, there is nothing helpful or healthful in giving kids the notion that their peer group consists solely of other members of their age group by artificially socially stratifying them based on age. In the old one-room school houses all of the ages learned together with the older ones helping thw younger, and nothing sets info in your mind like trying to teach it! We used to be an educated nation, now we are a dumbed-down nation of Sheeple.
We did 'class trips' to all sorts of interesting locales in conjunction with other homescolling families and other kids, she had lots of fun, and got her diploma through our district.
She went on to shool as a Piano Technician, but that's slow to get going.
All in all, my Angie has one hell of a work ethic, can get along with anyone, and I thank the fact that I home schooled her for the way she turned out.
This is not to say that homeschooling is the ONLY way, so snuff those half-written flames people...
Me and Beck plan to start our family rather soon and education was one of the many things we discussed. We decided that our kids would go to the same Lutheral private school she attended, but that doesn't mean I can't still spend tons of time with them discussing history, social dynamics, physics, and doing all sorts of great experiments and building stuff.
Home, public, or private school, a kid can't HELP but turn out pretty good where the parent is willing to give of themself.

the cong i grew up in during the 70s had an exceptional elder who was born for showbizz.
our service meeting parts were sooo fantastic they would not be believed by todays automatoms.
we had mini dramas to show how to use the truuth book, dressed up as scrooge from charles dickens novel and with "ghosts" of christmas past and present to represent old religion and new.
Yes, come to think of it, I can recall the seventies at the hall more fondly than how it got later.
Even though there was the doom and gloom, I do remember it as having a much more personal feel.
Then the 'brothers' decided it was 'time to get serious' meaning: 'booooring!'
tho we never had such a riotous time as YOU describe!
WTW: OMG! "the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger"?!?!?!
That's a GOOD ONE! I like it and intend to use it.
You do come up with some good ones.

just heard on cnn .... he will be gving a speach to a conservative group at 12:30pm est and announce he is quitting.. rub a dub.
This is only my opinion, but I am fairly typical among conservatives:
Huckabee's no conservative in my book, and I think he is not an honest man. I wasn't one hundred percent crazy about Romney, but he was within tolerance, none of the guys left fall within this range.
And don't say Ron Paul, the guy's a nutcase.
It looks like McLame vs either Hitlery or Osama Obama.
Sad to say, I no longer have a dog in this fight. I'll vote FORE somebody, but it is against my principles to vote for somebody I do not approve of simply as a vote AGAINST somebody worse.
There's not a dime's worth of difference between McLame and Hitlery except Hitlery is better hung, and Obama? Don't make me laugh.
Even with me and quite a few other conservatives sitting this one out, McLame will prolly win; after all, we are not his base anyway.
And the country will go down the crapper either way.
I didn't leave the Repugnican Party, IT left ME.
