Very scarry encounter

i just had an encounter with a man at the bank and i'm still shaking:.

i pull up to the bank to use the atm ( atm in small lobby), i park next to a large truck and next to the truck was another car.

there was 1 man using the atm, and no one in line or outside.

As a trained Carry Permit holder I can tell you that you did exactly as we were trained to do.

Get away from the situation, and make your report ASAP to the cops, sometimes the first one to make a report is believed over any subsequent versions of the events.

If it had been me, I would have done the exact same as you except that I would have an additional option if he had physically prevented me from retreat.

Excellent advice regarding calling 911 and verifying the identity of purported authorities who don't seem 'right'

As far as trusting to an officer to protect you more than your own ability, that is a matter for each person to decide, but consider this:

The Supreme Court of the US, in the Miller decision, decided that the police have no duty to protect any particular citizen, just society as a whole.

The SCOTUS says defense of your person is your personal responsibility.

Just know that this is an extremely complex issue, and that there are more than a few sides to it.

Stay safe, stay situationally aware, and remember that your greatest defensive armament is between your ears!

Mind Control? or just usual group processes?

i have limited knowledge about mind control from the psychology degree i have just finished.

i had been unhappy with my life as a witno for a long time but one particular lecture really pushed me to the point of leaving and after that lecture i never returned to the meetings.

the lecture was on brain washing tactics employed in the military, there were so many points that struck a chord with me.

she's a JW, I'm not, she's married, so am I.....

first of all, my heart aches for her and i am totally in love with her.

i helped her leave an abusive (15yr) marriage.

i am married but there is no affection, compassion, love, understanding....etc.

I might also mention to this poor fellow I know of what I speak, I've been there, of so many times.

I'm thig king of mistakes and one of em was messing with another dude's woman. Easy to say he's abusive, but most guys HAVE to convince themselves of that if they're massing with the guy's woman. Objectivity? not on your life!

I've also mastered the bad rebound relationship, having once picked up another dude's wife while in the psyche ward after my own ran off. she became my second wife and a five-year plan to misery.

Dude, walk away from the other guy's wife, come to an understanding with your own either to leave or stay, and if you leave keep it in your pants for a year or you'll be SOOO sorry.

I've gotta say that your objectivity circuits seem to be on the blink.

how can you make an honest assesment of the affection in your marriage with the distraction of being 'totally in love with' another man's wife?

Whatever future you build, make sure it rests on a solid foundation, and this kind of shifting emotional sands does not meet that test.

Would you want to be kicking yourself for the rest of your life due to a decision made with the wrong head in a time of high emotion like this?

Just saying is all, whatever you do, STAY IN THE RIGHT and DO THE RIGHT THING!

You are the example for your kids, like it or not. Be sure to set the RIGHT example because they are watching and actions speak louder than words.

What's best for THEM comes before what you merely want. You might want to look into that.

If your marriage still seems as bad as all that after taking a BIG step away from the other guy's wife, there ARE honorable ways to end that and start again.

If she is really going back into the borg, make that TWO BIG STEPS.

and also consider, just because we feel something, feel it in our very bones... doesn't automatically mean it's real. Take a few deep breaths, then take a few more, then make damn sure before doing anything undoable.

Its up to you, keep your head, or lose it.

of course i told her we were going out to see dad.. this gave her pause because she is well aware that dad is rather deceased.
