Well, Trev is ill now!

at least i don't think so.. he has a flu-like illness and feels pretty awful.

by his own admission, he's been neglecting himself these last few months, and i think with all the stres he's been under that perhaps his immune system is very low.

he looks pretty awful as well, like he's had all the blood drained out of him.. even so, he was going to get on with the things he needs to do today, at least until i intervened.

If I ever have to go through this, losing the other half that makes me sane, safe, and whole; I hope I have a friend like you who will take care of me when I am vulnerable and without form until I can reconstitiute myself in some fashion.

I remember when the feeling was returning in my legs after being without sensation for over a year, I was going through pins and needles agony for months. For two whole weeks I was unable to get more that an hour's sleep a night from the pain, but being a bullheaded male I refused to address the issue.

My Becky came over on a day she wasn't even supposed to be here, levered me out of my bed, got my clothes on me, somehow got me into her car and to urgent care. They, of course, put me on narcotics. LOTS of them.

I slept.

Then I remember waking and being so confused and she was there with a cold drink and hot ravioli.

Then I slept again. I don't know how long.

I don't know exactly what trev is going through, but I imagine it's pretty bad, the thought of going through what I did without my Beck brings me pretty close, I imagine.

You are an Angel in the flesh for being there for him. If ever there was a sacred service, you are performing it right now.

i so loved the post of the kitten the other day.

i checked-out this week and drank three bottles of gin, even though i stopped in toto four months ago, my wife is out of town.

please do not post anything about counseling here as i have tried that and am on lots of meds.

i have had a bad day and thought that i eould share it with you to either cheer you up - glad i am not him.. story - my in laws are moving to a flat/appartment, and they had a load of rubbish to be moved from there by today so that the workmen can finish tommorow.they (the in laws) can not do to much as they are quite infirm.

guess who did - in one - me!

i said to my jw wife as i ran to her the meeting would really appreciate a hand here, she indicated that she really could not as she must get to meeting.

You're a good man for doing the right thing by your in-laws in spite of seeing how you are being used. If you don't do it, who will? and it needs doing, so you brace your shoulder and heave.

point of no return

i want to thank the people involved in this site and the people on here in general as you have all been a great support for me.i think the internet has actually saved my life because i probably would have remained in the watchtower forever without having all this extra information to look into on here and the net in general.well i have now started to pass the point of no return mentally.through information and considering the way watchtower really works.also i have spoke to my mom about me leaving and how i feel and she has give me some support.i feel the watchtower had put a divide between me and my non witness family that has now started to return.its seems to me like the tower severs that parent/ emotional tie and takes its place.im feeling better in my self and although i dont have all the answers am looking foward to moving on for good.im starting to see that the watchtowers happiness is anything but.ive thought for quite a while in fact its anti life.

Trouble with the Paradigm

ok, so if i follow the paradigm, the afterlife goes like this:.

all the good little folks go to heaven where they sing, float around, maybe watch over some clueless schlub back here, and are permanently joyous because they are wired that way and have no choice in the matter, but are basically 'staff'.

the wicked, who got to have a bit more fun while alive, go down to hell where they are poked, prodded, and buggered by demons, they are 'clients', but not 'staff'.

The demons, who have tenured staff positions are 'fallen angels' so they could theoretically be your uncle Bob who was boring all his life, then died and went to heaven where he discovered a rebellious streak or something and got transferred to a staff position more to his abilities tormenting souls in hell.

Does this all make sense to ANYONE?!?!?

I think their paradigm is seriously broken. This doesn't invalidate my faith in any way, it just demonstrates that the standard paradigm is constructed of non-compatible parts.

My new goal re new Generation light

if the 'new light' on 'generation' discussed earlier is accurate then it certainly will move me to continue on in my ministry.. i was slacking off because i thought the preaching work was near complete without growth!

now i can be confident that in 10 or 20 years the society will simply announce that a new batch of brothers have started partaking, the generation will continue and it is a sign that jehovah has provided more time for people to come into the truth!.

Maybe that's why they need so many 'replacements'.. High turnover!

Maybe they have JC's and disfellowshipping up there, I mean it is supposedly a 'loving arrangement', right?

Do they also have cheap, polyester robes?

Having to put up with all that crap seems like a steep price to pay for a little snack of stale bread and warm wine.

You probably didn't watch it either, and prefer to stay in your thought cacoon custoom made via the media, with the unrealist ideas that USA only fights in just wars and to bring "true" democracy and freedom to the world.

I actually did make an effort to watch it, but I can only be expected to tolerate so much narcissistic drivel. BTW, that's a very nice Ad Homonym you got going there, does it help to buttress your worldview? I say run with it then. Why not call me more names? I can take it.

Oh, and I'm not a knee-jerk 'USA! Love it or Leave it!' type, I think there have been quite a few stains on our national character and we have certainly been wrong our share of times, so you can put away your straw man.

What I object to is that this fool basks in the title 'greatest living scholar' when he is best known for his 'work' outside his field, in the realm of opinion.

What about other great scholars like John Lott? oh, they get attacked and derided because their opinions, unlike Chomsky's, fail to advance the Stalinist agenda.

Being a genius in linguistics does not translate to being a genius in 'power politics' so they label him a 'critic' in that area, but the slavering masses too easily equate the 'scholar' portion to the part where he's a mere critic. Yeah, and loyalty to Jehovah is loyalty to the GB.

Can't you get past the same logical fallacies? Having left one false worldview based on knee-jerk reaction-ism to feel-good argumentation full of debatable merit can't you see the same here?

Are you going to say I 'failed to understand' next? is that your next attempt to close your eyes?

Chomsky is the greatest living scholar around. He is my hero. I first learned about him in my Linguistics classes, but since then I have tracked his career and philosophy. There is no one around who can compete with him. His arguments are solid, devoid of logical fallacies and factual. Nobody can question his scholarship - he's that solid. If you really listen to him without labeling him (hack, Marxist, liberal, conspiracy theorist, whatever) you will find that you might actually agree with him. I think most people who are not politically polarized do agree with him. He is an absolutely NECESSARY element of free and fair journalism. He is the only outspoken critic and watch dog of current journalistic practices and ethics. He would have a lot to say about the Watchtower if he knew about them. GO CHOMSKY!!! Love ya bud!
