  As regards Tragical Trevor, we can deal with it and move on but he has to wake up every day being himself.

  He spent TWO YEARS desperately trying to be somebody else, to be interesting, to be all that he lacks, and it finally came crashing down.

  He must have seen to post about impostors and knew the jig was about to be up, so he had to pull the trigger and have 'linda' die.

  A part of him, pathological as it seems had to have a genuine interest in us, but the sick way he related was the only way he could.

  A sad lonely little man incapable of fitting in among normal folk without concealing himself behind fiction.

  We get to move on, and I think it's time we do, but he has to wake up every day as himself, look in the mirror and see himself, spend every moment being himself...

  If he had to go through all that effort for two years, think how much it must suck every day, being him.

  although i am still a relative newbie to this board and can't say i had the honour of knowing her, i am so touched at the outpouring of love that i have seen - and priviledged that i can be a member of this community!

  Life IS like a roller coaster, isn't it?

  It goes up, it goes down, it rocks you from side to side.

  But you only get to go once, so make it count.

  I figure if you get to the end with all your limbs you didn't do it right so stand up, scream, make some noise, throw yourself into it with gusto!

  So you tried having a business, but learned that it might not be the right time or maybe not for you, KUDOS for giving it a go!

  So many people fail to even try, they just sit there with their hands over their eyes on the rough spots of the ride.

  I really admire your positive attitude, I mean death gets us in the end, but why let life get us down in the meantime?

  So, here's to your roller coaster ride, may it go on much longer and have more ups than downs.

  my heart says no let's all get along and love each other and show respect to the individual.. my mind says yes.

  There is self defence, and then there is revenge. The two are not synonymous.

  During the attack, to stop it by ending your assailant is self-defence. To act against them any time after the immediate threat has stopped is revenge.

  I support self defence wholeheartedly, I reject revenge just as strongly.

  I am a person who has defended himself. I would do it again in a shot, but I would advise anyone considering what sort of defense to provide themselves with to consider the aftermath of using violence even in defense.

  Even if it is 'justified' there are times in the dark of the night when it haunts you.

  The only way you can remain completely without this pain is If you can just 'get away' or avoid it in the first place; but if you are not offered this option by your assailant, I'd drop him like a bad habit.

  Having been both the victim of abuse/attack at an early age, AND someone who defended himself in a lethal fashion, the aftermath of a defensive incident is much better than chewing over the abuse again and again.

  The gift of life is precious, to take life is simply horrible, but to throw it away is worse. To not defend yourself or your loved ones is to throw away their lives. This I will not do, but I know I cannot be everywhere so I have provided them with tools and skills to ensure their safety to the best of their abilities.

  Having witnessed something truly horrifying and knowing that them who did it looked like anybody else; I am never unarmed and would use violence in defence in a heartbeat, even tho I would have to deal with the aftermath.]

  Please excuse the lack of my usual organization and clear thought, it's hard to think clearly when certain memories elbow their way to the front of my mind.

  I don't know the whole story here, but I don't think I gotta know the whole story to see that the guy was clearly, at that point in time, really acting like a dick.

  Whatever he may or may not have suffered at the hands of these men, I agree that acting like a dick doesn't do him, or us any good whatsoever.

  I am so very glad to meet you, and happy to hear that you would never think so little of yourself to tolerate such treatment. Your mother did a great job.

  I have a daughter myself, so I know what it is to worry. But, my daughter, like you, would probably hand the guy who raises a hand to her his ass in a bucket.

  As a child, I was witness to horror myself, so I could never have raised her to be anybody's victim. I raised her to have steel in her backbone and know her way around a shootin iron.

  Let's say papa sleeps sound at night.

  So, good meeting you, welcome here, and be sure to say thanks to your mom, she's awesome.

  Armageddon = Cancer ?

  here's some food for thought.... the center for science in the public interest tries to control everything we eat, thinking that everything causes cancer.

  there's always something new that causes cancer!.

  the witness try to control everything we do, thinking that everything is a sign that armageddon is near..... maybe there's some kind of parallel there.. what do you think?

  Well if it were really 'in the public interest' you might be right, but that wasn't the point she was making, was it.

  They both have an agenda, and they both use junk science to advance it.

  They say some substance is cancer causing, then it turns out you'd have to eat sixteen tons a day to reproduce the results they got from pumping it into rats with a firehose.

  Then, ten years later, you hear about the substance again, but THIS TIME it's good for you.

  'new light' meets 'Bud Light'

  If this whole debacle is to make the elders better 'company men' and toe the line better, I have to wonder how this will affect my relationship with my sister Mrs PO and her husband, Mr PO.

  Oddly enough, they treat me better and more like a human being than family members that have never been or are no longer associated with the JW's.

  I don't know what culpability MR PO bears for whatever goes on in the KH, and there was bad blood between us some time back, but all has been forgiven both ways around the time my father passed on.

  If they emphasize avoiding association with known apostates/opposers, it could cause me trouble when I need to deal with them to fix their pc's and care for our aged mother.

  Gotta wonder if he'll come back spiritually energized to shun the hell outta me.

  Hope not, but we'll see.
