How about this one? If Satan is the "Father of the lie" ( ) and all the bad that is in the world stems from both him and his demons (once angels, took his side even though they were perfect ) and all those doing bad things are doing so because of them. Why not just kill off Satan? Why destroy more than 99% of the world's population when you can just destroy the source of all the evil in the first place?

Not to mention... imperfect behaviour is accepted (to a certain extent) because we are imperfect. But if Adam and Eve were perfect, why then did Eve listen to that snake?

i wanted to try an experiment and try out my jw apologist chops.

since we have such a hard time finding a jw apologist that can argue well, i thought i'd give it a whirl.

I do get what Christ Alone is doing here by pretending to be an apologist. I really do believe a lot of those over-zealous witnesses (whether active or not) actually spell out an argument that would scream out "CULT!" to the average person who knows nothing about the Watchtower or the JW's.

Usually, when they convert someone they introduce the teachings s-l-o-w-l-y. To get a much broader range of their beliefs in a very short space of time isn't something that cults use... it turns people off. But, of course, no JW realises they are in a cult (they wouldn't be a JW if they did) and don't get this.

Christ Alone... you had me in fits of laughter by the middle of the second page and I found myself wanting to scream "He's apostate, go with it for f***'s sake!". Again, job well done.

**edited to add** Not to mention the sheer lack of consideration of the facts when presented to them (you kinda didn't emulate that one too well Christ Alone... that's what tweaked me , didn't see this thread at first).

Good job Christ Alone... I started to sense what you're doing on the first page.

You kinda worked from the angle which is the very reason why I don't delete comments from JW's on my YouTube videos. I do believe their comments which they believe are going to show everyone the "real truth" are what will convince the average don't-know-jack-about-the-JW's that they are, in fact a cult. I often wonder if it's what they say (as well as the apostates) that's an underlying reason for the WTBTS' demonisation of the internet in the first place.

i will buy the video and watch it nekkid.. the last time i saw them was in 1994 at legion field with my best friend.

we still say after all these years it was one of the best nights of our lives.. .

i had quite the fun time at my wedding reception with the jw family so worried that my non-jw aunt was going to do a toast.

unlike them, i do have regard for not offending the conscience of others, so of course i wasn't going to allow that under the circumstances.

i mean, if they really thought i was going to let them do that, why did they even come in the first place?

It's not something I think about a lot to be honest. Though I did finally meet my step mum just in the last few days and she's big on clinking the glasses before taking the first sip. I complied... no harm done and it's fun. **clink**

Can YOU solve the following Paradox??

before i address the paradox (a statement that contradicts itself) i want to insert a fact from history.. .

the romans used a malleable (and highly poisonous) metal (lead) for water pipes and conduits.

as snows melted into pure water, it was channeled into sluices and pipes made of lead that ran through the cities as drinking water.. .

I've been wondering lately... is God the problem or is it religion? If a God does exist does he even care what we think of him? If we are required to believe in him (which doesn't make sense to me) how specific do you have to get? There's so many variations of God just within the Christian religions... kinda says to me he doesn't. I also can't see how religion would be a priority of any kind to him either... I think he'd be more concerned about how we treat others. I do like your God Tec.

Those are just some of the questions/issues buzzing around in my head lately.

Actually, if Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey's comments are anything to go by for the conservatives they were not in favour of an enquiry like this at all.

There has also been some opposition from the Labor side too... some just don't want to see their religion raked over the coals.

I'm with FlyingHighNow... don't believe neither religion or science can hold all the answers (though to be fair... the scientific community do admit they are still learning).

It perplexes me how someone can believe in an all powerful, perfect being who spends so much time hung up on the minor issues (ie morality, whether we believe in said being or not) when surely this perfect being would see the much bigger picture (ie war, people starving etc) and would surely be more focused on those issues instead... I think if there is a God and he is half as vindictive as many religions would like to have us believe... none of us currently living would have ever had the chance to be born in the first place. Just my view.
